I was thinking of getting a LMS-525C for my little freshwater boat. The cost is $699. It was recommended by a friend, but it is much more that I wanted to spend. I have never used a Lowrance before...thoughts?

I am going to try and get over to Mako Matts and talk to them about it next weekend.
If I had lots of extra cash, I would pick up some in various sizes and colors to try them...but at $15 a pop fishing around rocks? EEK!!!!

Places to shop...

I started to reply on another thread about Charkbait, but I thought I would start a new thread to see what are the best places to get gear. I like to always support the local guy. So my favorites for good deals and friendly service are: Mako Matts - Huntington Beach, CA Pacific Edge - Huntington Bea...

Dave...that bracket is some type of aluminum alloy. Over 1" thick in some spots. I could probably melt it down and make a .09" thick canoe out of it!

Hey Les! Yes, I did go out by myself. I know it is not the safest thing, but it is my time to get away from everything. I am pretty good about wearing the inflatable belt and using the kill switch teather when trolling...has anyone purchased the wireless kill switch? I now forget the name but it was...

Those Islanders are very popular in the Great Lakes! I have known several very happy owners over the years.

Hey Scott. The Bayrunners may be lighter duty than the heavy metal boats, but they are great boats to trailer .
Have you been out fishing lately in SoCal? I am going to try and get out of Huntington on Friday to see what's out there near shore.

Yeah...it was a bad traffic day...but there never seems to be a good one. I figure when I finally stop working, I will be able to kick back with a beer and fishing rod and know that I have earned my leisure time. The Loch Ness comparison is common to the Finger Lakes. They are very similar...deep, n...

Hi LR, The North River boats were pretty cool. But I wasn't really moved by them either...not really sure why. Layout?...construction?...I don't know...just not for me. The Pacific was by far the coolest boat in the whole building...in my eyes anyway. Does anyone here have a North River, and could s...

TWMarine's Pacific 2008 23ST

Pacific 2008 23ST I am sorry that these are phone pics and not of the best quality, but still a high quality subject. I also thought that I got a pic of the seat set up....but I didn't. A simple post with a back, but it has lots of room for a bait tank below or other customization. http://i168.photo...

Hey Richard...
Kenny said we just missed each other, and yes, he told me all about your boat. Electronics, kicker bracket, etc...he is very proud of it!! I am jealous! The new rail looks awesome. I am sure that you can't wait to get it on the water.

It is up for grabs. He said that he has a couple of people looking at it, but it is not sold as of yesterday.

He had a couple of small ribs there and also a couple of the lighter Bayrunner alloy boats.

Hey there Les! Great site. Yes, I got a couple of phone pics...I will try to post them tonight. The 23ST is awesome. It had the white powder coat on the console and top. The compartment for storage/potti/etc is much bigger than I would have thought. It did not have many options. I think Lencos were ...
