Re: Pacific 2025v

My 2025 has a Honda 130 and I don't feel under powered even with a 40 gal bait tank, and 3 guys fishing.

Re: Out of gas

I added gas from cans, it took about 7 more gallons. I'm thinking that when I fill, the boat is a little bow-down and the gas is above the vent hole in the tank so it builds pressure and backs up before filling. Next step will be to run the boat, then fill up with the bow raised, then see if it will...

Re: Out of gas

So, I checked the length of the fill hose, seems right, can't pull any slack. Although I can't see it the whole way, I pulled it an it didn't give more than 3/4 inch. I called Julie who confirmed the 50 gallon tank, she gave me some things to check into, I'll keep you posted. Not sure how I'll know ...

Re: Out of gas

It's an alloy tank, visible through the hatch on deck.

I'll call Julie

Thanks

Re: Out of gas

So any ideas why I'm only getting 40 usable gallons?

Out of gas

Ran out of gas yesterday in my 2005 Pacific V2025.

Filled up on the way home, it only took 40 gallons. This whole time I thought I had a 50 gallon tank. Did Pacific put a 40 gallon tank in the V2025 in 2005 or do I have 10 gallons that's not getting picked up?

Re: Hoping to join the team

I'm going to go with these on top of the bunks, the ones with the X channel seem to only come in 2x6 size and my bunks are 2x4: http://www.surfixinc.com/surfix_trailer_bunkslides.html I read some posts about getting pitting due to the screw holes holding water between the screw and the hull. I've re...

Do you know how much pressure that it would take to do any harm to 1/4" thick aluminum?
A lot

This is what I thought, but better to ask a stupid question than to make a stupid mistake.

She's home

Ok, so I got the boat. I checked under the bunks and did find minor evidence of pitting, but I think I got a really good deal, so I'll deal with it. I'm looking into the suggestions for bunk covers and like the ones with the X channels. Sounds like isolating the hull from the wood and carpet will so...

Re: Hoping to join the team

So, assuming all goes well and I buy the boat on Saturday, I will want to immediately put plastic runners on the bunks.

Is there a best product for this?

Re: Hoping to join the team

Another good tip on how to check under the bunks, I never would have thought of those ideas. Is either choice going to put too much stress on the hull by concentrating the pressure in a small spot instead of distributing it over the whole bunk? Any thought as to which of the two methods is better? A...

Re: Hoping to join the team

Tell you an easier way to check since you are going to sea trial it. When you launch the boat first slide it about a foot off the trailer then pull it back out of the water and crawl under the back end. You'll be able to see a portion of the normally hidden part of the hull and do an adequate inspe...

Re: Hoping to join the team

Thanks for the warm welcome and the advice. Bottom of the hull looks good near the bunks, although I didn't jack it up. All the electronics were done by Trade Wind marine, so I feel good about that, no backyard tinkering. We have a deal to sell/purchase the boat, agreed on price, just contingent on ...

Hoping to join the team

I've had two older Bayrunners, and am looking at a used Pacific now. I have read a lot about the plate alloy boats and like the idea, but the one I'm looking at now is the first one I've seen in person. In know that they are not expected to stay shiny, but this boat and the hardtop are covered with ...
