Re: Modified Cope 36' Patrol boat build thread

Nope, doing the math, I think I have to stick to the 300 Yammies, just dont want to deal with the 350's economy and issues. I think 600 hp will be plenty now that my holds are down to 3800 lb. capcity with the RSW and Hydraulics, I think will still be under 15,000 Loaded weight. If I can cruise at 2...

Vinyl wrap

With todays new high tech vinyl wraps, has anyone had any expieriance with wrapping an alloy boat? pro's, Con's , any idea what prep needs to be. I know most of you like to keep them raw, but I really liked the paint on my last build, and it still looks great 6 years later, but after almost killing ...

Re: Aluminum Extrusions

Steelhead, While I aprreciate and respect everything Mr. Morin has to say and have gleaned much from him, Iwill add my two cents, If I were building an open river sled like a few I have built, I believe extrusions defintley simplify the process and have there place as most all of the big production ...

Re: Paint

I know most agree that your better off to not paint, but to each his own,I LIKE PAINT. The following pictures is at 4 years old, being Moored 6 months out of the year, being used as a commercial boat and charter boat. With a little care, paint can last a long time. I sand with 120 scotch bright , wa...

Re: Seattle area cnc cutting/aluminum supplier?

K&K industries have cut three boats for me now, and I know there agreement will be made with the designer. I asked to have an additional bulk head cut sometime into my build do to some modifications and they had to approve it with designer before they would cut it a second time. I think there pr...

Kevin, not to sound like a butt kissing idiot, but you are amazing , I'd Love to sit in the shop and just pick your brain for about 10 years, I've been around off shore boats for about 40 years , been a mechanical cantractor for 31 years and a boat builder for only the last 7 or 8 years, but I'm con...

Re: New unproven design question

Lots of great designers out there, many on this site. Id chose to build design by a proven designer with lots of experience . I'm on my 5th build and happy to say the first four ran and handled flawlessly and I'm sure the one I'm building now will be the best one yet. I'd look at designs by Cope, Sp...
