Black Lab 2325

Hello this is Capt G. It’s been a while since I last visited soo needed quite a few tries to login but I finally figured things out. I am going to be putting my 2005 Pacific on the market and wanted to see if anyone here is interested in purchasing a fully rigged boat that has been maintained profes...

Re: New ZUKI 250....can't shake problems

I put on a new Df250AP last fall. The only problem on the sea trial was the motor cutting out after hitting 4200 Rpm. Took a while to find but there was a problem with the fuel line. Once fixed she ran perfect for 20 hours (Feds closed down cod fishing so the boat got put away in early Oct). The fly...

Re: Boe Marine here!

Welcome Brian. BOE marine supplied all the electronics for my Pacific in 2005. They were and are a great company to deal with.

Brian next time you are in Gloucester hanging with those Wicked captains stop by my slip and say hello!

CG Reauthorization Act of 2010 requires all commercial fishing vessels (I tuna fish commercially) to have one. I will need to have one installed before having the new mandatory CG dock side exam

Do you know where the outflow port is located on the hull?

Bilge Pump

I need to install a bilge pump in my 2005 Pacific 2325. I understand that Pacific is now installing them in their current models. If anyone has a boat with a factory installed pump I am interested in seeing some photos of how they installed the pump below deck as well as the placement of the outfow ...

Fuses

I have a 2005 Pacific whose panel uses the old style pop out fuses. On of them corroded so bady I need to replace the holder as well as the fuse. Any one here know where I can purchase them? I am thinking about replacing the entire panel with a new one that use circuit breakers. Does any one know if...

This one was only 350 in the round and was no problem coming through the door. Of course it helps when you son is big and strong and a former discus thrower

Re: Filet knives

Dexter Russel 1378 for fillet and a Forschner Cimeter 10" for skinning (large fish).

I also bought a professional sharpening tool (EdgePro) that is the best on the market and actually works.

I ran a special 16 hour offshore marathon trip to an offshore ledge on Saturday August 20th. I partnered with another Captain and we ran his 31' JC as the grounds were over 70 NM..just too far for my Pacific. I haven't been there for a while but my numbers were as good as ever. Non stop action all d...

Been going 24/7 it seems the last week between commercial bass fishing, running some Cape Ann Kids fishing trips, and,my favorite, doing offshore ground fishing. In brief the fishing is fantastic with some big bass in the deep water, schoolies are in the rocks and offshore, and the best haddock bite...

Re: Slayin & Crushin The Bite Was On

Pollack fight harder than cod but I'd rather eat cod.

These fish were taken in 45 fathom but at this time of year (on a different piece of bottom) we catch them in as little as 15 fathom,

Slayin & Crushin The Bite Was On

Fished two days in a row which was amazing in itself with the weather we have been having. On Saturday we took the long ride south and slammed limits of cod and all the pollack the guys wanted to take. Played catch release on keeper cod for about 2 hours after our limit was in the box. Stayed away f...

Excellent cod bite on the bank 4/22 as cod were on both herring and sand eels. What was a desert a few days ago has sprung to life. I dont like fishing in a fleet so after a hour of playing dodgems I moved off by myself and found a mother load. Called in a good friend and we both limited out with ou...

I only use crimps on 80lb and better . I the past 2 years I have not had a single crimp fail. Done properly it is the strongest connection you can get for attaching swivels etc. For top shots on braid I only use L2L connections or direct splices on my 130s. Good to hear some tackle talk...getting si...

Took a day off from chartering and took my "sons" out for a day of ground fishing. After nailing a couple real nice cod my son hooks up on something serious. 10 minutes previous we saw a big Mako cruise past so I assumed George had enticed him to eat a cod. Wrong again as 10 minutes later ...

Cod & Giants

Cod fishing this past Friday after the stormy week we had was on fire. Limited out on cod to 20 lbs and put plenty of haddock and pollack in the boat even after we spent nearly 3 hours fighting a giant tuna that inhaled a cod jig in 35 fathoms. Bringing a knife to a gunfight wasnt planned but we sur...

Best Cod Fishing in 30 years

The last couple trips have been awesome with cod limits and haddock to 9lbs. The fish are holding east of Stellwgen in anywhere from 220 to 300 ft (where we took a half dozen bull haddock on Saturday). If you are interested in sharking, blue sharks are in abudance and quite willing to take a bait (d...

Different Days...Different Results

I had charters on Saturday and Sunday this past weekend. On Saturday the bite was a slow pick at best. I had to go south of the BE to finally get on a halfway respectable bite and even then I was not happy with the catch rate. The NW wind started to pick up around 1000 and by 1230 being 28 miles fro...

A couple tricks... To keep the mono from coming out of the needle simply bend it a little near the tag end and then insert...it will not come out while threading. Nothing wrong with inserting 5' but you would be surprised how little you actually need to insert and yet achieve a 100% no slip connecti...
