Yeah, for half of the sale check, I can get a tricked out piece of Tupperware... Actually, I may convert the proceeds from the sale into a carwash in order to further my plans of world domination....
There are social entitlement programs for the homeless... Why not for us boatless types too?

Beam for casual towing?
Silly rookie question.... Being accustomed to big boats that require a travelift to remove from the water, I find myself lacking knowledge when it comes to towing.... What's the widest dimension that can be towed inter/intrastate here in the good ol' USA? Most of the "trailerable" boats I'...

I believe they are for the rich and famous, as the only people really checking them out at the last Miami International boat show was women escorted in Derby hats and men blue blazers, white pants and ascots. Royalty??? I know, right? And unless you're into cocaine (which any of us licensed captain...

The Zeus drives have been around for a while now... or are you referring to the fact that there are 4 of them running instead of the standard 1, 2 or 3? Much like the Volvo Penta IPS drives, I'm not a fan of anything sticking out from the BOTTOM of my hull... At least the hull is there to protect an...

Are your props completely shrouded or skegged? Mine aren't... Seems like a hassle and problems waiting to happen. I've emailed the mfgr, but don't expect a reply for at least a few days. I'd be interested to see installations around more than just a dinky glass sailboat. Some video of the install an...

Re: SPOT locator
Spot is great but it's not a replacement for epirbs, larger boats, common sense and good seamanship. I'm seeing too many folks here in OR taking little boats built for river and estuary use way too far offshore. "But I gots my flares and float coats and my spot so if anything happens I'm okay.&...

Not an expert but you need a 0183 - USB adapter/multiplexer like this: http://www.blueheronmarine.com/Detail.bok?no=6351 This one is specifically for Airmar - USB connections but if you look around you'll find generic adapters. No multiplexer needed. Just a serial to FURUNO cable. It seems Furuno d...

Hi Jim! All the charters and lodges in Elfin fish Deer Harbor. I've been down there a few times and if you know the tides it can be lights out king fishing. I've hit 4 guests with a 2 fish per person limit in under an hour before. Tuna is about done here. Weather is setting in and I'm rigging crab p...

Anyone on the left coast driving 101 through Southern Oregon will pass by my home 3 blocks away... swing by the boat harbor in Old Town Bandon to get a very scenic view of... well... my boat! My computer expertise ends when I leave dry land. So I've got this cool little HP NetBook computer, and it's running a variety of chart viewing and plotting software. The computer only has USB ports available. On the boat my GPS antenna is connected to my Furuno plotter, sounder, etc. via NavNet. Is...

Okay, as promised, here's the first of the rod holder pics... the 4 blocky looking things on the rail are rod holders with a custom base made to fit on my Cannon downrigger bases. The others are "adjustable angle" weld-on rod holders... THEN we decided there weren't enough rocket launchers...
