Re: Almar 22 sounder repower

One thing to consider when going to repower to outboard is weight distribution. Changing a 900lb I/O for a 400lb ouboard will offset the centre of gravity a bit, but if you are going to fill that I/O void with ice and tuna then you are good to go.

It is my understanding that as a US citizen one would have to actually be buying the licence on Canadian soil. https://www-ops2.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/nrls-sndpp/ump-pmu-eng.cfm Sign up for a new profile with US residence, you will be asked to actually be in Canada to purchase the license as electronic l...

Re: 24 Almar S/R

Little slow around Sooke right about and some silly slot limit in effect till July 15 so nothing too exciting, that doesn't bother me much as I hit a deadhead and the boat is in the shop getting a new leg in a week or so. So today I got a little carried away and thought gaining some real estate on the port side seating area was a good idea

Re: identify this boat!

I don't see how you can go wrong for $600 if you own an aluminum welder and you are proficient at it.
I'd hit it. Be prepared to drop at least another 20K for everything else.
Good luck

Re: New to forum and bottom paint question

Took mine to Jenkins marine and so far pretty happy with workmanship and price. They have a set price per foot can't remember what it was but I walked out of there just shy of $2k lighter than when I walked in LOL I did take it in based mainly on word of mouth from people I know all of which were al...

Re: 250 or 300 for new 24 pilothouse

Weather you power or repower boats everyone seem to agree that there is never enough power and if you can afford it go for the max hp. The engine won't work as hard, higher efficiency, reserve power when needed the list goes on. I vote for the 300 but then again my opinion might be a bit biased :thu...

Not in the market for another boat so I did not pay attention to the sticker price, however a quick Google search yielded this 24 ft, 22 ft likely a little less

Re: New Riverhawk Family Boat Build

Checked out the local boat show last week, Riverhawk 22 was on display. I am wondering re: the gas fill placement. See pic, how would you refuel if, say you took a longer trip (tuna??) and packed a couple jerry cans just in case. Maybe the 24 is different, regardless a very nice well put together ve...
