I looked at that boat in 2012. It was a bargain during the downturn of the economy..
I wish I had bought it then.

Re: Catchin' some fish in an alloy boat
Great photo sent to us from Kevin of his 12’ Wooldridge DH(dual hull). These were great little multi use boats that with their duel-hull design offered incredible performance! Who would like to see us make these again? https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/640x480q90/923/d45wKo.jpg I would take a 8-9'...

Jon, I just noticed and don't remember hearing you say anything about it. Lifting eyes? Planning on putting this on something bigger?

Re: 28' Crozier / Hunt - New build
Jon, Why did Chad not run the heater exhaust straight out to the side. Even with the insulation, my DT40 exhaust gets warm enough to melt plastic (we left a plastic hanger close to it once) That wood is in danger of at least scorching if not worse.

Haul out is the only way to check the condition of the hull.

Re: New Guy--Long Island Sound--Norwalk--who bottom paints around here?
Most pontoon boats are made from salt water compatible aluminum. Prepping a pontoon boat for bottom paint has to be more difficult than a moohull boat, probably why they are reluctant. I have not lived in the area for a long time, but I grew up in Norwalk/Wilton. I still visit my parents a few times...

I would consider a smaller one with a rail mount-
Or one with a base for my house. I just don't have the space anywhere for a built in that big.

Re: General opinion of Hewescraft Ocean Pro?
You are in luck! I used to own a Hewescraft OceanPro, powered with a Yamaha F150. I also put a set of Doel Fin hydrofoils on the boat. It allowed the boat to maintain a planing speed of 12 or 12 knots. So in the really sloppy stuff I just slowed down to semi-displacement speed, and the boat perform...

Re: Barrett marine
Can you confirm who their designer is?
There is another builder or two using his designs. Interesting if you could compare the build quality while using the same designs.
Seems like they got their start in the fuel tank industry.

Re: Narrowing it down
Sleeping 4 in a 28' doesn't leave much room for a fishing cockpit. Can be done-but sacrifices must be made. Our deck is tiny-like 8'x6' ish. We did not compromise on cabin space and the deck suffered. If we went with a head below the V berth, and let the passengers not have the option of facing for...

RTTUSM_BUN_C_L__97702.1422968941.1280.1280.jpg I avoided the top of I beam bunks because I was so unsure of the ride height/tire fender clearance. That was unknown till the trailer was assembled. There were many different options on axle angle, and I guessed on what would work. Luckily that part ca...

Re: Took a little longer than expected, but the trailer is "done"
I'll suggest that you shorten the bunk brackets and weld them to the top of the main frame rails. It accomplishes three things, it moves the support outboard which would increase stability of the boat when making turns (or dodging crazies on the highway), it allows the bunks to easily clear the str...
