Re: Zinc Chromate Primer
If you're chewing through zincs that's their job and they're working / saving the hull? Are the aluminum ones working if they're not being eaten up? Now I'm nervous....

Re: Twin engines vs motor plus kicker
16' bull raking boats, 38' single diesel lobster boats...sure there are a lot of them.
Anyhow, twin outboards on a 26' boat is 100% my vote. Good luck.

If you're saying a single motor is better than twins for an offshore boat you're 100% thinking with your wallet.

Re: Zinc Chromate Primer
Aluminum anodes?? The entire boat is aluminum, what would another block of aluminum do?
One long truck ride got it to the East coast.
Twin Honda's now.

Re: Zinc Chromate Primer
No real pitting or issues. I have a big zinc on the stern and a 20 pound zinc on a wire I lower when stopped. I never plug in and twin engine anodes are perfect. Boat never sleeps in the water.

Re: Zinc Chromate Primer
Thanks for the reply, you're correct on many levels. You're a chemist! I'll prep it well for sure. Good point.
All I want is more protection from electricity in the water and zinc primer should work.......I think.

Zinc Chromate Primer
I searched the site and it looks safe to coat the outside of my Edwing's 1/4" AL plate hull bottom with zinc chromate primer??? Boat is 100% trailered and worked in salt water around big marinas with lots of boats plugged into electricity. I want more protection than just a hull zinc and will p...

Re: Twin engines vs motor plus kicker
100% buy twins so you always make it home. Priceless. A kicker wont do much in the ocean when u need it most.
After you own twins you wont go back.

Re: Goldster turbo 951 radar manual
I was looking for a goldstar 951 turbo for like 3 years because mine would not complete the countdown. Clean as a whistle too. I finally gave it away. manual.....good luck. They went out of business long ago. It's simple to use, spend some time with it. I dialed it in then basically turned it on and...

I can also see why my boat originally came with twin 4 cylinder I/O's for power. All that reversing would have swamped any outboard, even the 30" ones!

Re: MY 25' EDWING
I just watched ALASKA FISH WARS and I see my Edwing in a new light! My Edwing still has a Washington state salmon sticker on it and I clearly see the boat's design. There are weld marks at the bow where the two net posts were, the smooth pipe that goes all around the boat so the net doesn't snag on ...

Re: Pacific deck question?
I have a fishing chair like that, but lower, and it's always an accident waiting to happen. When running someone always sits in it and they end up slowly sliding/jumping to the stern..... or tipping over. If you want it, $100. Seat, pads, and aluminum base. Don't say I didn't warn you though....

I bought the siphon kit, it's all hooked up and ready to go! My test piece of 6061 plate with bottom paint on it is ready to meet it's match. Hopefully I'm onto something here. I saw crushed glass at Grainger for $40-$80 per 5 gallon pail......I'll investigate. Glass You're right about the lungs, I ...

Come change my twin Honda oils, timing belt and adjust my valves and then we'll talk......but not race because I'm running Hondas! Then there's the Honda 130 head issue.....Love my Honda's but not turning my back on the 2 stroke...

So what media did you use? Sand? I think I'm going with Home depot "play sand".
I have a 4000 PSI / 4 GPM unit so I'm hoping it works well. From what I read you really need to be careful not to eat up what you're blasting!!
