Re: 2011 starcraft 19'6' fishmaster
OK, I'm going to say it since nobody else has bothered to; you should put a price up. The other thing, more interior pictures would go a long way in showing how clean the boat "looks" but is hard to tell with the cover on it. A close up of the driving console doesn't do it justice. Unless ...

Re: Bilge cleaning Tips?????
Pour some salt away in the bilge then add water. Keep the drain plug in and drive the boat around. Find a hill and go up that. Get the water to move around. Take trailer off tow vehicle and crank as high as it'll go and then unplug. Works pretty good. K.I.S.S. I've done that more than once just beca...

Re: Catchin' some fish in an alloy boat
Been a while since I posted some pics. Virus has created some real issues with social distancing etc. On top of that when I did get out, fishing sucked and nothing really to take pictures of. I did a couple of lake trips with my daughters doing some fishing for kokes (very small) and beaching the bo...

Re: Finally ordered a boat
Woolie26 is correct about the bait sloshing around. Tried it once. Only good thing is it'll weed out all but the strongest of baits lol. Put your bait tank in the middle of your deck. It's way better there. DO NOT hang it off the back. Sorry but I couldn't disagree more with Woolie26 on that point. ...

Re: Twin engines vs motor plus kicker
"100% buy twins so you always make it home. Priceless. A kicker wont do much in the ocean when u need it most." And if it's bad gas? Although I have to say I've never had bad gas (talking just the boat now) and I've got gas in Mexico many times. Soooo not really sure how often that happens...

Re: Twin engines vs motor plus kicker
20 miles??? I typically go 40+ for rockfish lol! Oh and that's one way. Never had twins. Only kicker I ever had I never took that boat saltwater fishing. Funny thing that boat was the only one that ever broke down but I was still able to fish because of the kicker and elec. trolling motor. And it wa...

Re: Catchin' some fish in an alloy boat
Tried a rockfish/lobster combo Sunday. Weather was perfect for both. Unfortunately, the fishing wasn't perfect as we struggled for big reds (only 11) and skunked on the lobster using hoop nets. Some of the smaller rockfish we used for lobster bait as part of our limit. The rock I pulled up from over...

Re: Catchin' some fish in an alloy boat
BDS, I just have it drain over the transom. Not crazy about it but don't want to drill into the deck and have it drain out via the offshore bracket someplace. I thought about drilling into the transom fish hold but my friends talked me out of it lol. I tried using the fish hold as a bait tank. It su...

Re: Catchin' some fish in an alloy boat
Went out of San Diego for yft. One of those should have been here yesterday scenario's. More like should have been here last week but I was out of the country and reading the reports was driving me crazy. Flew back in on Sunday and took the trip on Wed. severely jet lagged. All I can say was fishing...

Re: Catchin' some fish in an alloy boat
Haven't fished in a while. Life happening. Decided to try for salmon as the tuna fishing wasn't happening (until we went salmon fishing!). Reports for salmon were really good. Hadn't fished for them in about 20 years give or take. After spending the day trying for them I can honestly say I think the...

Re: Catchin' some fish in an alloy boat
Haven't been out in a while. Remember the picture without my good luck charm on the boat? Well, this trip took the good luck charm out and caught the biggest reds (Vermillions) we've ever caught. I'm sure several were over 12lbs. No legal lings on this trip and only caught 1 which is unusual. But I ...

Re: Catchin' some fish in an alloy boat
Dropped off daughter and friends on the island. Went and did some fishing without my good luck charm and this is about what I ended up with. Think it's a Gobi. It ate about a 5" mackerel I jigged up trying for halibut. No such luck with the halibut. Didn't get skunked though! Not the best shot ...

Re: Catchin' some fish in an alloy boat
Ever have a good luck charm? Not that I'm superstitious or anything but here's mine. In fact, he's such a good luck charm that if he's going to go, it's an automatic pass from the wife. He's such a good luck charm that I caught the big yellowtail while rockfishing! At least he targeted his at the to...

Re: Catchin' some fish in an alloy boat
Decided last trip was just too good to pass on another window that opened up for a few days. Went out just before the rain hit Tue. evening. This time no red sky in morning. Just overcast and some thick fog in places. Took a good pounding going home in some very unusual wind going up the channel. Fi...

IMG_3385.jpg[/attachment[attachment=1]20181107_092014.jpg 20181107_163158.jpg ] Last Wed. went 187 miles and 17 hours on the motor. Haven't filled the boat back up so not sure just how much fuel we actually burned but gauge said 52 gallons. We put in 10 gallons while off of Ensenada. I think we sti...

Cool. Can you take some close ups of the latches? I'd really like to see how that was done.

Re: What's happening at the Wooldridge shop
And that bait tank won't move in rough seas? I'd like to see video of that thing not moving coming off any kind of swell at speed. Or even at just trolling speed in a moderate bump. It's like those guys on Deadliest Catch catching air on a big swell. If it ain't tied down.......you'd think it'd move.

Re: What's happening at the Wooldridge shop
Interesting bait tank set up. How is the tank held in place? The platform looks like it just sits on 4 legs? Are they welded? Also, I don't see an outlet on top for the water to drain out when full. What did you use? I had a hell of a time defeating gravity and getting the water to drain properly wh...

Re: Catchin' some fish in an alloy boat
Took a trip down in Mexican waters on Wed. Another 140+ mile trip. Buddy took these pics. He's a bit more with it when it comes to the camera and taking pictures. Only caught 7 tuna all on the troll but did better than pretty much 90% of the boats out there. Better to be lucky than good! It looks pr...
