Re: Looking for info on this boat

My boat is a early Lee Shore Swiftsure 22 with a custom cabin. It was made under the companies last owner while still located in Port Townsend. New owners moved the company to Port Angeles.

The Lee Shore Swiftsure boat still lives. I picked up the stripped hull and had them add a cabin.

2000 Dodge 2500 lift pump / injector pump failure

I was 5 mile from my home towing my boat heading for the boat ramp when I lost all power / brakes / steering in my 2000 dodge 2500 pick up with 24 valve Cummings diesel with out any warning from any gauges that there was a problem with the engine. I had my truck towed back home and pulled the codes ...

Re: Comparing Hulls

One note on hull B in a following sea. My 22ft has a very round upper bow and I have to be careful not to go to fast and come of a wave and hit the next one to hard. If I do the round bow does not cut thru but can plow resulting in a rapid deceleration and sliding sideways. Was surprised once when I...

I think I will wait a while before upgrading my electronics. Want a next generation CHIRP (compressed high-intensity radar pulse) fish finder but will to wait a couple of years till the price comes down.

No NAPA / Westbay Auto did not carry the fuses. Had to ordered them thru Harbor Freight. Only have the crimping pliers that are also a wire stripper. I have not been happy with them and was looking to upgrade to a good set of crimping pliers. Being able to crimp swedges would be a big plus. Currentl...

Automatic Wire Stripper

While talking the shop owner who was rebuilding my TR's starter I mentioned the work I was doing repairing wiring issues. He pulled out his automatic strippers and showed me how fast an easy and they worked. They make easy work of stripping wires in tight places using only one hand. Just stick the w...

Earlier this year after 3 months at sea I arrived back at the dock where my truck was parked at 2100 and found it would not start. Took 2 hours in the dark to find out that the starter fuse was weak and had blown. Saw this fuse and  .

I have seen a lot of problems with Chinese steel and would avoid Chinese chain or wire due to quality control problems on the steel it is made from & fake certificates. Spend more for chain made in the USA and sleep better when anchored.

We carry anything shipped in containers to to Alaska. Safeway, Home Depot, Walmart, Car, Personal Goods, ect. Never lost anything over the side yet but bought some containers into port a little bent. Cold in Anchorage

Just completed my 2nd trip of 6 running to Alaska. 13 degrees in Anchorage and the ice is starting to build up in upper Cook Inlet. It took 2 hours to dock the ship in a 3-4 kt flood current and a 37 ft tide range. We had to put the bow against the dock, 20 RPM ahead on engines against the fwd sprin...

Enjoying all the pictures of your trip. The some containers on hatch #1 were damaged, but the seas around the containers at hatches 8 & 9 were done with photoshop by a bored but talented radio operator. The Ship in San Pedro is the SS Victory Lane. 2,751 Liberty ships were built between 1941-194...

The John W. Brown, the old ship you saw in Baltimore is one of 2 remaining WW II Liberty Ships. The other is the Jeremiah O'Brien moored at Pier 45, Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco.

Yes it was their Demo / Shop boat. Was stolen and recovered stripped of everything that could be removed, then they started to cut the boat up to sell for scrap but was to much work. I bought the boat as a bare hull after it had been stolen and stripped. It was originally a CC. I had the CC removed and a cabin added. Now I can use the boat year around in comfort. I launch out of Port Townsend and fish, crab & shrimp in the straits where it gets rough and the water is cold mo...
