Re: Travel and SIM cards
I use Skype and VIBER so avoid the hassle and expense of SIM cards and contracts. Both are free apps. Just make sure the people you call have the same app installed and call away over the internet. Lots of places offer internet free. Just don't check bank balances, etc. from your phone or you may ex...

Re: Desolation Sound in a small boat
I have photos but wasn't able to embed photos in the post. If you could help with directions I'll post them. I used a down bag as I find it works well even when wet and dries faster then a synthetic. This is just my experience, like to hear yours.

Desolation Sound in a small boat
I sold my plastic boat in late summer 2010 as I wasn’t using it much. In fact, it logged just two hours that year for maintenance and selling demo, no personal use whatsoever. I was doing well boatless until spring of the next year when ‘noboatitis’ struck with a vengeance. How could I go a whole bo...

Re: Our first serious aluminum boat
You can have family fun on an 18-19' foot open boat. You'll have to watch the weather on the Columbia but would even in a 28 footer. The wind can howl thru the gorge kicking up serious waves. Here is a nice boat for $5K that will work well as a first boats and provide many hours of fun. http://www.b...

Re: aluminum boat advise
I love my Raider. Recommend you check them out. Either the 172 or 182 Pro-sport with a 90 Honda will make a very comfortable, safe, economical boat perfect for island fun.

Re: Need Recommendation for Boat Cover Manu
Wow! Great info especially how well it held up over the 8000 mile trip. Please email me the contact info for your shop. I just winterized my boat but can tow it to Lacey in the spring/summer. I plan to drop by Raider and have Mike install a larger fuel tank and fab a swim step ladder. Thanks again f...

Need Recommendation for Boat Cover Manu
I need someone to fab a cover for my boat. No one local seems to understand my needs and able to fab the type cover I want. They are baffled by the upright windshield, etc. Looking for a Sunbrella type cover that hugs the hull and windshield and securely fastens to the trailer so I can tow with it. ...

Re: Raider Boats?
I own a 192 Pro-Sport. Love the boat! I've been to the factory and watched Mike and crew build several different models. All are extremely well constructed; excellent welds, strong stringer system, top quality materials. I have the extension and recommend it for all models. I sold a high quality pla...
