Re: My new to me Aluminum!

goatram,
i highly recomend you get your son running the boat! the best thing my folks did for me is let me run boats from a very early age. sure I made some mistakes and did soe stupid things but I learned from those conciquences and it's made me a better boater because of it!

Re: Thanks to AAB for helping!

I love the pacific white sided dolfins. So playfull. We would have pods of them playing in the boat wakes where i grew up. In fact a few weeks ago when i was home visiting we had 50 of them come into the bay and stick around for 2 days! charging and jumping the whole time! pretty increadible creatur...

Re: My new to me Aluminum!

Nothing quite like finding your dream boat after a long search and gettin it home! Long story short, i was the fifth person to call about the boat. Had a good long talk with the owner and at the end of it he said he would hold ono it for a week untill i could renew my passport and get down to see it...

My new to me Aluminum!

Well some of you might know that i've been on the search for a new to me welded aluminum boat for the last year. Three weeks ago I finally found my dream boat in washington! Imported it home to Canada and have been enjoying it every spare moment since! Found this 18' Silver Streak runabout, loaded w...

Re: 2001 yamaha four stroke

thanks goatram,
and i do agree with you. I'm looking for a 4 stroke engine. what i meant by that comment was being warry of a older fourstroke that might not have been maintained propperly.
Cheers

Re: 2001 yamaha four stroke

thanks for the response. Unfortunatly the owner of the boat emailed me last night to tell me that he's decided not to sell the boat afterall. Pretty unfortunate. I'll go back to trolling craigslist for the right boat! As for 2stroke vs 4 stroke. I just think that since theres about half as many movi...

2001 yamaha four stroke

In me boating experience I've owned old two stroke engines and 2007 and newer fourstrokes. This weekend i'm going to look at a older Silver Streak welded aluminum runabout with a 2001 Yamaha Four Stroke 115hp main engine. I have no experience with older four strokes but have heard many stories of pe...

Re: New Eaglecraft Sportfisher 2300

I grew up with a eagle craft runabout and they are fantastic boats! Built in campbell river, BC. The sunken bow is great for the inside of vancouver island where theres not much swell. store prawn traps, gear, wet dogs, makes a great platform for beaching on remote beaches. If i had one again I woul...

Re: 95 Armstrong; To expensive?

Armstrong really doesn't build many mono hulls. I asked for a quote for a 22' and they never really gave me an exact quote but more or less said it was going to come in around 100k. I wonder if this was a Canadian Armstrong before they moved to Port Angeles? What changes have there been since then ...

Re: 95 Armstrong; To expensive?

I agre that it's priced a bit high compared to some other nice aluminums in that price range that have been for sale recently around victoria. but as welder said its just a starting point and once it sits around for a while not selling he'll come down! No harm in shooting him an offer either!

That would be my ideal boat but with the soft top. hoping to find one used though. getting one built is still a little out of my price range.

Re: aluminum boat advise

You will enjoy the experience. Well built and look great! what model are you interested in? I am going to buy a little bigger boat in a year or so. Silver Streak has a model I really like. I will be going to Victoria to test drive a similar boat. He does have rentals, so I can evaluate it on the wat...

Re: Pod Design

It was a trade in, so the dealership owns the boat. I know for a fact that there were other interested parties who had left a deposit on the boat before me but they all ended up passing on it. I can only assume that it was because they as well offered low and were turned down. If your selling a used...

Re: Pod Design

Took her for a test drive and had some fun in a fair bit of windchop. She was a great boat but the dealership it was at is not willing to negotiate the price at all or through in anything extra into the deal. So i walked. theres always other boats out there! although she was a fine vessle!

Re: aluminum boat advise

They are both very fine boats but i share your skepticism of injected foam. Funny, I'm currently trying to decide between a Silver Streak CC and a Wooldridge CC 21’. I’ve seen the Wooldridge factory and like the structural design of their boats even with the lighter gauge. I haven’t seen the Silver ...
