Re: Using Hull Stiffener Extrusion
Looks like something that would work on my skiff Kevin. Unfortunately I don't know of any place on the east coast that carry it. D

Re: Pilot House; Design-Build
Kevin I have book marked this page. There is so much to grasp here on cambering the bottom of my skiff that I have to study for a bit. What I thought was going to be simple since I decided on flat bottom has become complex to some extent. I want it to be done so it performs correctly in the water an...

Re: Mooring anchor barge
Ha, a great rig for salvaging Cypress logs. I had a contract in Louisiana to clear one bayou of logs and debris and this would have been the ticket for breaking the suction with the bottom. I saw some strange and often time scary equipment doing that work and a clean durable rig like this would have...

Great looking work boats Bob, Wish I could have seen them when I was in the area this summer. I needed them when I was doing Katrina work in Louisiana bayous. I'll finally get that first skiff cut out when the Hudson Valley thaws in about 6 weeks. D

Re: Net Skiff Build
Kevin what is the advantage of a full displacement hull. They have a deep draft and are slow. I happen to like some of the designes like Kadey Krogan , but the fact that they are all so slow seems like a real detractor. D

Re: diesels
Are there any updates to diesel outboards and how they are performing? My hope is this continues to grow amd mature into reality for other than military. Diesels and marine applications is such a natural fit. Downline

Re: 24' DYI alloy remodel
The back gouging tool Kevin showed with three 4 inch blades is interesting to me. I have a similar Makita but it is designed for one blade. I have never seen several blades mounted at once and want to make sure this tool is not designed for three before I mount three blades on mky Makita. Also are y...

Re: Set up MP350
I originally had the Magnum spool gun for my PM 350 MP and after a few beads called the company and arranged to send it back for a credit toward the Push Pull. It was a financial stretch but well worth it. I also went to spring loaded contact tips which made another big difference when welding .035 ...

Re: Robotics not all that far away!
KEVIN, while taking several courses at Lincoln we had the chance to tour the manufacturing facility and see the various robotics in use. It makes sense that the technology will be used in the one man shop soon based on what I was seeing. I will probably be using something that is a combination of th...

Re: 16' aluminum skiff
I had the good fortune to visit Bob at his shop on Monday. I liked the 16 foot skiff layout, and obvious sturdiness, that I am looking at switching from the 16 I had plans for, and building his design. I took pictures but even after cropping they are to big for this forum, so until I figure that out...

Re: 16' aluminum skiff
Don't be concerned at times I am easily confused. I have wanted to find any quality aluminum boat builders that I could here in the North East, but they seem to be scarce as hens teeth. Now I bump into welderbob and wonder why I have struggled so to find anyone. Perhaps no one affiliated with NON AL...

Re: 16' aluminum skiff
How do I get your number? Makes sense about the amount of waste and I will do what is the best value at this point. I have only talked with Yarde because they were the only company I found with a water jet cutter. I guess I looked at something else in the video I saw. I appreciate your help. D

Re: 16' aluminum skiff
This 16 seemed smaller to me than 16 when I viewed the video. I just had a 16 plan from MBK get re-quoted by Yarde metals to supply materials and cutting and they went from 1800 to 2900 dollars. Perhaps they misquoted the first time but this seemed excessive for inflation. Are there plans for this ...

Re: mig welding
John I took two courses at Lincoln Electric that apply to any welder. I wanted to use the PM 350 MP on AL to see if that welder made sense to invest in, and to start to get a handle on Al welding. weldingtipsandtricks.com is a source that has helped a lot because I can refer back often for what I ma...
