Cleaning up this hull

My boat was beaten up over the winter by loose tarp and was scuffed up as you can see. Looks better after washing down. I am considering refinishing above the chine... boat has the original nyalic coat on it from Pacific. I like the look of the one3powerboat which I believe is a wax finish. So anywa...

There are many 11+ year old Pacifics in the world... How many have had this happen to them?

Re: Corrosion advice

Kevin: thanks for your insights I will get a better look inside the hull. What I am thinking is to cut an inspection hatch into the forward hull and get as complete an inspection as possible of the area of corrosion and the hull interior. I am not entirely clear on the Pacific construction but I thi...

Re: Corrosion advice

when in the water it is tied to a wooden raft at the end of the dock. The corrosion did occur on the side of the boat that faces the dock... I will take a close look, but other than bolts used to construct piers severe feet away no metal around... I always turn batteries off when not running I guess...

Chaps: would the hull be protected from stray current when the battery switch is in the off position, and boat out of water?

Re: Corrosion advice

Thanks Chaps I am going to have to figure out a way to get a look from above... We put a scope inside through the hole but could not really see anything, so who knows. I was concerned a bit that the electrical issue might indicate some sort of stray current that could be causing internal corrosion, ...

Corrosion advice

I have a 2005 Pacific 2025 hardtop, 1350 hrs, used and kept in salt water for 1-2 weeks at a time, and stored outside on a roller trailer when not in use. When stored, the bow had been jacked up high enough to allow water to drain from the deck, but in retrospect MAY not have been high enough over t...

Took tarp off this spring and had this. Improved after washing with soap and water, but not completely gone. Any ideas? Also opinions on using diluted bleach (or any other suggestions) to get rid of tough stains on non skid deck surface?

Re: 23’ Pacific

I don't see any significant damage to the hull, not sure about motor. The port side does not look dented, and knowing the construction of these boats, hard to imagine how it could get dented. The water in the hull looks like it is due to being tilted forward on the trailer, since there is no water i...

Re: Electrolysis on Pacific Skiff 22 DV

Others have reported similar problems with corrosion in areas where the hull was in prolonged contact with trailer bunks, which often are made of pressure treated lumber. Not sure if this would apply to your situation. Doesn't seem likey that the bilge drain plug would be related. Can you post pictu...

Re: help on a fix Gas tank?

Wow, replacing a tank sounds like a huge deal to me!! Do you need to cut a 9 foot hole in the deck? If so does that mean removing the seat and center console to get to the deck? Sounds very expensive. I am interested in any insights as to how and why this happened. Salt water getting in through the ...

Re: Newbie Looking for a Pacific 23 HT

I would keep looking on this forum, craigslist, and any other listings and be ready to pounce when one comes up for sale because they are in demand and sell fast. There are more of them on the west coast and I understand that it is not too difficult to have one shipped east. The ride would be compar...

It does sort of look like it sits low but maybe an optical illusion created by the line of the rub rails. Nice boat!!
