The last few trips have been spent looking for top water action only, really hoping to find Bones or Albies as this has been a goal for me since getting the boat four years ago. The seasonal window is small for these fish and considerably smaller for me living 80 miles away, I only get a couple of s...

Re: Another trailer bunk question

If you wanted to save some cash you could put a ~1" cypress board on top of a pressure treated bunk board, probably thicker if you added the drainage grooves. Just a thought.

MacCTD, I have put in anywhere from Boston Harbor and South to New London CT area and many points in between. Will be in Boston Harbor this weekend. I haven't gone North yet only because it's further for me, as it is I'm averaging about 150 miles round trip. I would love to do it sometime though. Ma...

Yep my Bro has his hands full for the next 5-6 years but they are good kids and won't give him too many headaches. Yes trolling with lead core, usually targeting 25-30' and rarely need deeper then 35'. This is mainly a mid summer - fall, daytime tactic when the stripers are sitting on the bottom. Ar...

We fished Provincetown (the very tip of Cape Cod Mass) last Thursday. My brother joined me with his two girls, a trip we all were looking forward to as we hammered them on this trip last year. They left VT at 2:30am, got to my house at 5:45am, we hit the road at 6am for a 7:15am ramp arrival. We put...

I'm a big Ugly Stick fan too. I especially like my US Tiger and Tiger Lite rods for vertical jigging sea bass and lings out on the Sunken Jetty. Most of mine are in the 15lb-30lb. and 6' tall. All my buddies use "high end" stuff, but I seem to hang with'em just fine. My feelings exactly, ...

Re: Transom savers...any science here?

Here's a few pic's of the 'mywedge' in action, once in place there's 19" of ground clearance to the skeg. This could be made on a table saw in 10 minutes or so, giving the builder the flexibility to control the tilt level.

Re: Transom savers...any science here?

I also use the my wedge product, it works great and installs in seconds. If it ever needs replacing I'll make one out of wood on the table saw.

I wish he had coordinators, that seems like part of the problem. This will be the first season in 3 that he has a named O coordinator, still no D coordinator. He's also GM making personnel and contract decisions. Also they lost Scott Pioli a couple of seasons ago, this was a huge loss to the organiz...

Re: NFL TRADES

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't like the ocho signing at all for the Pats. He doesn't stretch the field and basically gives them what they already have in Welker. BB has gotten a free pass for far too long, he has been out coached in just about every big game since and including the Giants superbowl. ...

Re: NE BREEZE MEANS COOL DOWN, more fishing video

I'm looking for a lightweight bottom fishing setup for fluke, scup, seabass, tog and was starting to lean towards ABU. Seems like pretty good quality/value. Definitely will go with a baitcaster (was looking at the ABU C3) but had not considered the low profiles, I guess I think of them as freshwater...

Capt Dave,

What baitcasting reels are you using in this video for the trout? Do you use the same when targeting redfish? Nice job on this video.

Also have the pitting from carpeted bunks. I put a synthetic siding 'board' over the carpeted bunks with a deep counter sink on the SS screws. I got this product at Lowes and ripped it to width, total cost was under $20 and it has worked out great. Other have used starboard or similar. You can searc...

Fluke in CT

Spent last weekend fishing in the New London-Groton area, mostly for fluke. I have not done much fluke fishing but we had a blast and definitely will be doing more. Caught lots o fluke, fish on just about every drift, mostly in the 17" range (18.5" CT requirement) the biggest fish was 24" that my Da...

Your killing me with this boat. If I lived closer to the water I'd be all over it. It's just how I would buy a new one, good luck with the sale, shouldn't be too hard to find a buyer.

21, thanks for the offer, I got everything sorted out on Saturday. Fished Monomoy on Monday; a handful of small stripers, many bluefish and one small flounder. The stripers are fresh into the area, still with sea lice on them.

I have changed many sink faucets before (I'm a landlord) and say that fixing a reel is a lot easier. It's part of the down fall of our country, most of the US population has become fat and lazy. :soap:

Re: Penn Senator Special with stuck drag

So last night I got the handle nut off using a pair of electrical crimps and managed to do it without damaging the nut. The nut has an 'oil' port yet the factory has it loaded with grease?? Major corrosion on the top two layers of washers, I had to pound the crap out of them to get them out of their...
