Re: looking for new boat , Brand/model advise

The Pacific 26HT should fit everything that you have on your list. This boat has a console area that has a ton of storage as well as a large storage area behind the seats and at the bow all of which are easier to access than floor storage. I have this boat with a tuna door, a 48 gallon Offshore bait...

Powdercoat

I had the center console/cuddy on my 26ST powder coated in white. It looks great and is easy to clean. The only concern I had was cutting out holes in the console face for fishfinder, etc.. Per my electronics guy it won't be an issue. I'm coming up on my one-year anniversary for the boat - no issues...

I use the Yamaha Command link for my F250 (Pacific 26ST). My mileage and consumption is shown below. I try to run between 4000 and 420 RPM and the fuel monitoring/MPG is a great reminder when I forget. Your project boat looks a lot like my old Bayrunner Baja 21 (as also noted by Scott). I recently had a welder (Jim Day) make similar repairs on the boat plus he also has a Bayrunner. You can reach him on Allcoast or by e-mail at skiffybusiness@hotmail.com.

I have an SSI 200-qt cooler in front of my center console. Between the ice and the non-skid deck I've never had it shift. When fishing is good we put a 168-quart Igloo cooler in front of the SSI.

Most of my long trips are for tuna south west of San Diego. The trip home is typically right into the chop and I have found trim tabs to be very helpful. I can keep my speed up to a level that is economical and still not get pounded.

Good call - it's the 200. The 330 is huge! the 200 is 48" wide which is the same width as the center console. The 26ST forward console typically has a little pop-out bench that serves as seat plus some additional storage. I asked Julie to build this boat with a flush console so that I could hav...

Bait Tank LId

I think it's a non-standard lid made by a sub-contractor for Offshore. I wanted a little more surface area than the standard lid offered plus this top has four cut-outs for drink holders.

Pacific 26ST rigged for West Coast-style fishing

We worked with Julie at Pacific Boats and Kenny at TradeWind Inflatables to build a boat to fish off of San Diego and Baja California. The boat has a 46-gallon live-well, outriggers and a downrigger. The center console is set a little further forward to allow room to fish around the bait tank at the...

Fishing for Rock cod and halibut south of San Diego.

We fished live bait for rock cod in 300' of water and for halibut in 100' of water (see link below). All fish were caught using either straight 30' mono or 65' spectra with a top shot of 30' mono. It was a fun day on the water on our Pacific 26ST. Mark http://web.mac.com/fishyogi/Site/Tin_Fish.html

KIcker suggestions for PAcific 26

I would like to add a kicker to the factory-installed kicker bracket on my Pacific 26ST, Ideally I would like a Yamaha (because I have a Yammie F250 and it would look pretty if the motors matched). Any thoughts on HP, prop-size, hi-thrust, steering and lowering options would be appreciated. Thanks, ...

Set -up for Airmar SS260 transducer

I had Pacific weld a transom bracket on my 26ST that will allow use of the thru-hull transducer without actually cutting into the hull. I'm waiting for the NavNet 3x before i install the unit - here's a link to photos of the bracket which is mounted on the port side. Mark http://web.mac.com/fishyogi...
