Re: Puget Sounders
What crazy regulations. I thought us californians had it bad. At least you can fish on some days. We can still fish for rockfish they just closed all the rocky spots (MLPAs).

Re: HDS 8 Arrived and installed
They didn't list a year that it started working it just says that before 2006 the trim and temp don't interface but it sounds like the other sensors should. Is your engine a model 90f?

Re: HDS 8 Arrived and installed
Yeah it sounds like a verry common problem. The power cord has two sets of red and black wires, one set is the power for the unit and the other set powers the nema 2000 including the gps puck. make sure bothe sets are hooked up.

Re: MERLIN?????
Welder my guess is that your uncles 200lber was a pacific. I dont think I have herd of a calafornia halibut weighing more than about 60# or so. My personal best was a 37# 47" that I caught off my kayak.

Re: HDS 8 Arrived and installed
Nice - I thought Lowrance went to red NMEA 2000 connectors? They did, the GPS antenna is internal he doesn't have any network cables. NEMA 2000 is red and the Ethernet port is yellow. those 8's are pretty nice I would love to get a hds 7 but my old x 15 is still working good the black and white scr...

Re: What is your dream boat?
I have been thinking of an answer to this thread. One of these just showed up as a new tenant at my marina: http://www.acbboats.com/Gallery/album05 I think that this is pretty close to my "lottery fantasy" boat. I stuck a aluminumalloyboats.com card in his trailer hitch. I hope he stops b...

Re:
Its actually because the fish's blatter reflects the transducer signal the best while the rest of the body reflects less as the signal passes over and below the fish thus making an arched signal. Mty I was told by the lorance reps that it is because as the fish moves across your cone it you get les...

Re:
I build a little homemade unit out of a Champion ATV winch and an old Scotty manual downrigger wheel. I've scouring my hard drive to try and find the photos of it. I think it cost me around 100 bucks to make. It was slow but strong. I really like the pullers available at Cushman boats in WA. here i...
