Big new SAFE boat
This SAFE boat has a tad more LOA than mine.
But seriously this must have been quite an accomplishment.

Re: My small Eaglecraft
Chaps, We'll see I guess. I prefer a welded deck with scuppers, but this is how these boats come -- with a wooden deck. If the deck doesn't last I can always have an aluminum deck welded in. I'll install a Whale Gusher style hand pump to get rid of bilge water. Next up is seating and I also need to ...

Re: My small Eaglecraft
Got to spend some time on the little fish slayer. Here's how the she'll look once the new deck is screwed in. First time installing a wooden deck -- hope I did it right. Started with 3/4" marine grade plywood. Scribed the outline of the old floor and cut the wood. I primed with pigmented shella...

Re: My small Eaglecraft
Hi Bob, I'm here on the left coast and I'm restoring small fishing boats. Tomorrow epoxy with sand finish for the deck.

My small Eaglecraft
I picked up an older 16 foot Eaglecraft a while back with the intention of using it to fish with and just get out and explore. It's been sitting for a while, but I finally got around to getting it seaworthy. Here's the boat before anything was done. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk66/illgotoo/d...

Re: Seat pedestals?
This just in. I think there is another piece, a male spigot obtained from the boat manufacturer, Daigle, that mates with the existing female spigot. The male spigot has hole patterns to accept a standard base.
That sound right?

Seat pedestals?
I'm installing a new wooden floor and seats on a 16' Eaglecraft tiller. There are existing pedestal bases, but missing pedestals and seats. The bases look to accept a 2" pedestal. Where can I find a 2" pedestal to fit what's there? I can install new bases if necessary, but I'd really like ...

Re: Yamaha t25 25 inch shaft?
I have a T25. It's a heavy motor. 160 lbs I think.
Will the motor attach directly to the transom or will a bracket be necessary?

Re: Mystery question - what is this thing? And why do it?
Nice design. I'd like to try something similar. Something else I'd like to try if I had time to play around is devise a trolling plate that could be electronically modulated. Some fish bite better when trolling isn't steady. I have trolled for hours at times without a hit, but then caught fish upon ...

Re: new small project boat
Got started by replacing the bow rails and the eye for winching. I think they came out pretty good. Notice that the rails are about half as high as before. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk66/illgotoo/IMG_0109.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk66/illgotoo/IMG_0108.jpg I want to put a new ...

Re: new small project boat
Okay I know the boat doesn't have a welded deck. And it does not self drain. And it has a notched transom with no splash well so I'll need a bilge pump for falling seas and sudden stops. Probably just get a Whale Gusher. But the boat has an extremely solid hull. 3/16" alloy. Two stringers and s...

Re: new small project boat
Chaps: Yeah, I know.... This boat I keep in Bellingham, WA for now. I have a parking place to store it on its trailer. I bought it this weekend from a guide in Campbell River, BC. I hope it comes together the way I can visualize it. It will make a sweet ride -- totally trailerable for all the shelte...

Re: Lifetimer and Northwest Aluminum Craft
No firsthand knowledge. Sorry...
Northwest has a good reputation. I was in Victoria, BC a couple of years ago and there were lots of these boats in the harbor.
Lifetimer I've heard mixed reviews about. Again nothing firsthand though.

Re: 18.5' Stabicraft Supercab
Too bad. I think that might be the one to catch on. As much if not more than some of the other models. It is ideal, I think, for people who have to trailer a distance to the water. It's an equalizer. I have a 15' Stabicraft and it rides like an 18' boat. People I take out in it are amazed. I would e...

Re: considering buying lund cc 1998 need help
The rivets on the floor or the wooden deck covered by vinyl. Not the hull. Never had any problems with rivets in the hull. I don't knock the Lund. It was a terrific boat that has seen a lot of different water. It can be made to work in the ocean. IMHO there are better choices out there. I'm not sayi...

Re: considering buying lund cc 1998 need help
I had a 1998 Lund SSV18 Alaskan that I used in saltwater. The rivets on the floor became a problem when they all corroded and snapped off. I replaced them all, which wasn't a big deal once I located a source for those type of rivets. But still... Honestly I didn't like the boat for saltwater use. It...
