2007 Pacific (Black Lab) 26' HT - $53,000

The 26' Pacific HT was the perfect boat for my family (wife, 5 kids, friends, dogs, gear, etc.) when we bought it new in 2007, and we've had 13 fantastic seasons in Maine with it. Kids are now grown - last one headed to college in two weeks - and we're relocating to the DC area. So, it's time to par...

Oceanmike615, not sure I'm ready right now...may hold it one more season. But first folks that will know are here on this board.

Welder, thanks for the suggestion...calling Julie is never a bad idea when it comes to Pacifics!

Thanks, all, for the input.

What's it worth? 2007 Pacific 26' HT

Good morning, all. Just finished a great weekend boating here in Maine, which paradoxically has me thinking about selling my 2007 Pacific 26' HT. I purchased the boat new from Jay at Yarmouth Boat Yard, where it's been serviced every spring/fall, and usually stored there in the winter. It's been a f...

Will, I have a v26. Check out my post re: performance from a few years ago:

If I were doing it again, I would go with a Suzuki 300 without any question.

Re: Anchors

I use a 14 lb. Delta (plow) anchor. I originally had a 13 lb. West Marine "danforth style" anchor, which I still use as a stern anchor when I beach the boat. We have too much ledge/cobble/grass for the danforth to set properly and quickly. The plow sets the first time almost every time. Th...

Re: Suzi-Zuki 250 FBW

Sorry to hear about the troubles, Jetty, and good luck with the new engine. I don't charter and so put a heck of lot fewer hours on my engine than you do, but we have basically the same boat (I've got the hard top), same year, and I've had the Suzuki 250 from the get go. It's been a tremendous engin...

I'm guessing this is the original east coast "demo" RockSalt. When Jay (BlackLab) developed RockSalt with the folks in Texas, he moved his office from Maine to Massachusetts. Just a guess.

Re: How much horsepower?

I bought my Pacific 26' HT in 2007 w/ a 250hp Suzuki. I love the boat and the motor. Suzuki came out with the 300hp in 2007, and I had the option of going with that instead of the 250. I decided against it because it was the first year of production and the extra cost. That is the only decision I wo...

Re: biggest boat for a single 200

Responding to your updated specs - going up to a 250. I have a Pacific 26' hard top center console with a Suzuki 250 hp turning a 3 blade 151/4" diameter, 19" pitch prop. Unpainted bottom, pretty clean. I was just out this weekend with four adults, six kids (9-15 yrs) and two large dogs. T...

Re: New Pacific Dealer

I don't know, but I'll inquire. Traditionally, Jay relied on local owners (and his own boat) for sea trials and such. I'm not sure if Steve plans to work it the same way. My boat (26HT) and one other (26ST) are in the yard right now. Mine lives close by during the season, but I keep it at a mooring ...

Re: PACIFIC BOAT ISSUE? BOAT US SAYS YES?

I really appreciate Mooringman posting this and BlackBeard linking to the article, much as I appreciated the information about the issues others have had with PT wood bunks on their trailers. One of the biggest reasons I bought my 26' Pacific was because it is low maintenance. As we all know, "...

New Pacific Dealer

Like a few others on the board, I bought my Pacific from Jay Perotta when he was based at Yarmouth Boat Yard (YBY) in Yarmouth, Maine. I live in the next town over, so even though Jay is no longer there, I still take my Pacific to YBY for service annually. I run into Jay occassionally - usually at t...

Re: 26' walkaround wanted

That 29' Pacific was delivered to Yarmouth, ME at the same time my 26' was. Both of them were together there being rigged and outfitted. It's amazing how much bigger than my boat the 29' is. Awesome machine - I would never have expected it to be available at that price only 5 years later. It will be...

Re: The "Other" Boating Forum

I will say that I have in fact learned quite a bit on THT, including about plate alloy boats (from Welder and others before AAB was "born"). In fact, that's where I was (virtually) introduced to Jay Perotta. I met Jay in person shortly thereafter, which was easy because at that point his o...

The "Other" Boating Forum

I'm sure like many of you, I frequent other boating forums. (AAB, of course, is my favorite.) What I find funny on some of the boards is the aversion to even considering alloy boats when it clearly fits the poster's stated needs. A recent post on THT asked "what's the best, longest open fisherm...

Re: The "Tinny" sound?

Most folks that are concerned about a "tinny" noise with aluminum boats are referring to the noise generated by the hull moving through the water (which can be modulated/reduced through many different avenues). You mention vibration and rpms, so I'm guessing that you're not referring to th...

Re: Open Bows and Big Water

I've got a 26' Pacific center console with a hard top. I've been out in closely spaced (basically stacked) 6'-9' foot swells in the Gulf of Maine. One of those days when the weather went from okay to bad very quickly and wasn't forecast. I don't think I ever truly stuffed the bow, but water was comi...

Re: Barnacles!!

I second a good pressure washer. I leave mine moored, and the first year I had a lot of barnacles to remove. Now I try to pull the boat once or twice during the season for pressure washing, and that has basically eliminated my barnacle problem.

Re: Real World Performance Numbers

Got the boat back in the water last weekend and came up with the following performance numbers. I thought this would be interesting for any non-alloy owners considering an alloy boat. Given how I tend to run my boat (heavy), I think these numbers are pretty darn good from an efficiency standpoint an...

Re: Real World Performance Numbers

Cape Steve - I have been thinking more about painting the bottom. One thing holding me back has been that one of my (many) reasons for going alloy was because I didn't *have* to paint the bottom. I beach the boat frequently (15-20x per summer), so bottom painting would be an annual event for me. Par...
