It's still not even broken in yet.
So far. 21MPH @ 3000RPM and 30MPH @ 4000RPM. The motor is designed to turn 6200. In all honesty.....I'm a little afraid to open it all the way up.
30MPH in a flat bottom boat is fast. You really have to be on the trim button quick.

Re: My Search is over.....1860 SeaArk
I thought I'd add a update to this. The boat is now powered with a '12 DF-90A Suzzy and it made a Rocket out of it, for a flat bottom boat. This new motor weighs 6lbs more than the DF-70 or about the equivalent of 1gal of gas. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v196/Warthog5/1860%20SeaArk/100_4265.jp...

But I'm still keeping COURSE UP on the screen. I may change mine thruout the day. Course UP for the run out and back in [depending on the screen I'm using] , but change to North UP when maneuvering on a wreck. But it's usually just left on North Up. SO USE KNOTS. IT IS THE STANDARD THAT PROFESSIONA...

What do have your electronics set up to read? MPH will make your boat appear to be faster to others when described using MPH  Your fuel economy will be greater when using MPH  I always set them to MPH and always clarify that my stuff IS set @ MPH...There is no confusion if you clarify a...

I run a Lowrance sidescan/FF (similar to what you want to buy) and an older Simrad FF same time with 'ducers right next to each other and don't ever notice any interference between the two That is unusual. Any comments or ideas on what kind of paint to use??? 1st there are no Epoxy paints in a spray can. I don't care what the label says. Epoxy is a 2 part system. If you put it in a can it would get hard and not spray. Sherwin Williams "Tile Clad HS" is the paint of choice. It is a true epox...

That's not the problem..... The problem is dissimilar metals. Stainless screws in contact with your alum. plastic washes, rubber washers, the use of Tef Gel. What ever it takes to isolate the 2 metals when mounting equipment. http://www.tefgel.com/contain.php?param=tefgel_infor http://www.sailorssol...

Some people had asked for pixs of it on the water. So I just shot these at random last night. I was also covering the flash to try and get the deck lights to show well. They really didn't in the pix's. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v196/Warthog5/1860%20SeaArk/100_2601.jpg http://img.photobucket....

I went to the welding shop today. [ B&D Welding] I rebuilt the cooler already. Gigs and raking Flounder off in these coolers is hard on them. So this is what we did. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v196/Warthog5/1860%20SeaArk/100_2598.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v196/Warthog5/1860%20...

Got rid of the Destroyer steering wheel, where someone tried to put a spinner on it. It didn't work right either. That wheel was 15 1/2in. The new one is 13 1/2in. It is just like the ones on my Mako, except the raw metal is covered on the rim. This will help not transfer the cold to your hands and ...

We made a plan to go. Then Ed and I went and ran the boat, after some Tecroline additive and a spark plug change. Just finished building the Ballast box. The 400watt units weigh aprox.35lbs each with all the guts in them. Re: Trailer bunk redo
Issue was solved by cutting a shallow groove across each pair of countersunk holes with a router to allow the water to drain out. Use these and you will not need to do that. Note the screws going into the sides. They make them for 2X4's and 2 X 6's. A kit will do 2- 8ft boards. http://img.photobuck...

This is a Blue Seas Cable Clam. I use these all the time for cable installs on boats. More so for electronics installs. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v196/Warthog5/1860%20SeaArk/100_2508.jpg Other people use a stainless Clam shell and cram it full of Silicone.
