time for an electronics reboot???

I have an '05 Pacific with a Raymarine depth-finder and Garmin GPS original to the boat. Generally they have worked well, however I have had some difficulty plugging in the multi-pronged power and transducer cords on the depth-finder, less but similar difficulty with the antenna cord for the Garmin....

Re: SeaStar Hydraulic maintenance

When I open the cap at the helm and look in I do not see an oil level, but the steering seems fine. Should I add some lubricant to the system?

SeaStar Hydraulic maintenance

I have a 2006 V20 pacific with Seastar hydraulic steering. No problems with steering thus far. Wondering what is recommended for maintenance of this system? There is an oil fill/vent plug on the steering column not sure what I should be doing with it.

picture is worth a thousand words... sounds like a well equipped boat but modifications you describe have probably decreased its value significantly, I would not be surprised if you could get it for a lot less

Re: Windows For My Boat

do you think the reported rating for 15 foot seas is conservative?? seems like a 42 foot boat built like that should be able handle more. 6 footers should be a walk in the park I would think

Re: Bildge pump on pacific?

curious what year/model of pacific do you have? I have a v20/25 hardtop 2005 with no bilge pump. I have never seen any water in the bilge whatsoever. I considered installing a bilge pump but decided against it to keep things simple..

If you contact Pacific directly they would very likely be able to get a replacement for you. They have been very helpful for me with things like this in the past

Re: Looking @ a Pacific

If the boat is/has been stored on a bunk trailer, be sure to look at the hull where it makes contact with the trailer for any signs of corrosion.

There's got to be a typo here!

Just found this on cape cod craigslist http://capecod.craigslist.org/boa/2045812460.html. This is an insane deal if the boat is half as good as it looks!

Re: Deck Plate

The back seat / storage box is a nice feature but I can see how you might pass on it if deck space is a big priority.. I have enough room for a couple guys to cast off the back which is all I really need.

Re: Deck Plate

You do sound grumpy but I get it. Sorry didn't mean to have it come out that way, just seems odd that Pacific wouldn't put the deck plate there in all of their boats. It seems to be a good spot for it. Mine is a V2025. I am guessing that the hatch position has to do with the location of the fuel tan...

The deck plate on my 2005 pacific is located inside of the storage box beneath the back seat. So protected from water and traffic and doesn't leak..

Re: Aluminum in the harbor?

There are at least two pacifics kept in the water all season near me, apparently with no problems. They are both bottom painted. I keep my boat in the water for up to three weeks at time without bottom paint no problem. I do inspect and clean the zincs as needed.
