Re: Quintrex factory in SC - come and gone in a flash
My 2 cent's says they didn't do their research of the US Market very well. They are probably the biggest manufacturer of boats of any shape and size in Australia. Boats in AUS (in comparison to the US) are a lot more expensive than the same boat in the US Market. I can vouch for my 2003 18' Quintrex...

Re: Scrap the rod, bring a bluddy Helmet!
Not sure if this has been on the box before, but "Carp Invasion" will be shown down here in Cayman on the National Geographic Channel - this Friday the 27th (and other dates). Looked well put together from the commercial that was just broadcast for the show.... The intro reads: "Under...

And it is a home made Job. Things do not have to come from a Store. Dave may you catch many fish because of your contraption. Next you can mod it by adding a electric motor to do your chopping. Never settle! That is one sweet burley bucket. That would be a blessing on my boat. Don't thin...

Wolf, Funny you should ask.... I often have people tell me I shouldn't be using the engine with it on...... but it's been almost 2 years now and I have not had a single overheating / performance related issue whilst running with it on the engine. I guess the proof is in the pudding! You c...

Re: Quintrex?
Hi Fella's, Mate and I snuck out of work for an afternoon fish in the Quinny at Cayman's 12 Mile Bank - drift fishing for Yellowfin Tuna. I had a good hit on a whole Squid and the fish came up to the boat reasonably easy though heavy as all hell, suddenly the line was flying up and all of a sudden t...

Re: Quintrex?
Hey Fella's, Caught a nice Wahoo yesterday morning before taking a swim for a few Lobster off of Grand Cayman's "East End." I made a bit of a video of the Quinny, the catch and the general day (complete with some good old Aussie Rock from the "Hoodoo Guru's from back in the 80's!). It...

Re: Quintrex?
Funnily enough, Lobster season starts tomorrow. The season runs to the end of Feb, limits are 3 a day or 6 per boat - per day (minimum of 2 catchers on board). Knocking off work a little earlier than usual tomorrow afternoon and heading out to our favourite haunt! Yes Mojomizer, Lobster Pinapple com...

Re: Quintrex?
Just thought I'd post a photo or two of our boat from yesterday afternoon in the Cayman Islands. This is option #2 when the fish ain't biting, a few friends and a beer or two and at our favorite spot and a great place to take the kids. It was our 8 week old daughter's maiden voyage, and just like he...

Re: Shellfish and Crustaceans.
Not so much a recipe as rather something a little... different! This was passed onto our family years ago from a professional Crayfishing family back in Perth - Western Australia. The combination seems to bring out the best from the Lobster, and is great on a hot day. I know it may sound a little &q...

Re: Quintrex?
Nah Wolf, I'm not that brave buying a boat unseen... especially given all the decals being removed - I had to see it first. So I jumped on a plane and we took her for a spin. The owner John turned out to be an A/C guy like myself and just a genuine fella, we hit it off like you know what and conclud...

Re: Quintrex?
I used "Uship" - an online bidding site, where carriers can bid on your transport request. I had to hold out for a guy that would carry it down to Miami rather than tow it, I didn't know the boat/trailer enough to trust someone towing it, and just didn't want to know about the whole tow th...

Re: Here we go again.....TELEFLEX (not good) Kick up a stool
W, Your right. Since I was born my dad has called me the "defect finder". I know how to use stuff. I expect stuff to work, and expect things over $100 to work good. Cuz $100 is my breaking point for big $$ spent. But I've recieved many a comment here and none of them have made mention of ...

Re: Quintrex?
Thanks mate, this is how I found the Quinny up in RI.... since got her up to speed, the Bimini was great but a pain in the ar$e to fish with, so went for a $999 dollar Stryker T Top - what a ^%%$# difference! :highfive: But the pet says if I "add" one more thing to her she is outa here. .....
