Re: Big sucker

I see just one issue for me with that vessel. First I would like to say that I like the lines a lot & it amazes me that we seem to see a lot nicer IMHO lines in down-under alloy vessels that we see coming out of US builds so far as a generalization. With that said - the join in the sheets toward...

Re: Mig welder woes

2 little tips for you. When using a mig to weld my last boat, we were having problems with alu dust and even wood dust (I owned a cabinet factory and welded my boat up in there) getting onto the wire and building up on the feed rollers and causing feed rate problems as the rollers would slip. One th...

Re: 6061T6 vs 6082T6?

One of the issues with 6061 T6 is that it is brittle. That really only affects the ability to bend some pieces that might be required to have a fold for strength and was something i faced when building my first boat. The problems were with things like rolled radius edges for gunnels and rod pockets ...

Re: Northwind Marine 40' Israeli police boat

I am thinking an operation designed to take control of the vessel going sour. Pete in Israeli waters - you'd be right. Unfortunately in international waters, it's an act of war, or at best piracy, not unlike the Somalia pirates. IMHO it should be dealt with by the navies of other international nati...

So its a "log' hauling barge! :rotfl: :rotfl: I had to drive a "log" truck once! It was a 4wd truck with mounted tank and sullage pump...and I had to pump out a sealed vault septic tank in a national park toilet facility that was full. Well it all went well at the start - gently gentl...

All our commercial lobster boats here use a "pot tipper" rather than the boom type pot hauler you have depicted above there. http://www.evolutionboatsonline.com/Images/Services1.jpg A lightweight recreational rock lobster trap tipper http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_t8hifbrJSes/SV20zaS0wuI/AAAAAA...

I have a bad habit of calling it like I see it when issues of life and death are involved Nabeela. It gets me banned a LOT (Probably this will make the 2nd forum today!) I don't know what makes me do it. I'd much prefer not too have too! I would not like My God to think, I didn't speak up against mu...

What it lacked was a decent design to start with. There is something fundamentally wrong with your boat that you hav...
