Re: Bottom Paint: Best Brand and Application

Hi Bob! Thanks for the reply. We used Trilux before and it seemed to work ok. It held up for two years. We used Mission Bay from SeaHawk for the last year. What are your thoughts on repairing small barrier coat failures? And, if we do another complete bottom job, should we do an acid wash and conver...

Bottom Paint: Best Brand and Application

Looking to have bottom paint done on NIGHTHAWK. Please recommend best brands of bottom paint and best application for, an existing bottom paint that just needs repaint, a partial barrier coat repair where there are small failures, and a completely new barrier coat and bottom paint job. I'm looking f...

Re: 225 Honda runners?

Had a similar problem. It was a fuel line impingement/restriction because our fuel line ran through a rubber grommet that had individual holes for different lines (including fuel) where the umbilical hose meets the motor and at wide open throttle we had a slight impingement that caused enough of a f...

Re: Is there a US market for this boat?

Well,

Not interested in Chinese built, but keep us posted when your US division gets going. Good luck. Be nice to have a ballpark number on on an unrigged finished 19' hull. I have been interested in a smaller Cat for some time, but I am not in that big of a hurry.
Thanks,

Roger.

Boy did Andy screw the pooch :skillet:

Good for Armstrong-I looked at their boats and they are good boats.

I am really glad I got a Maxweld when I did. It's just too bad they are no longer in Business. :banghead:

Nice boat! Sure enjoyed the post.

I am looking for a better door lock and dead bolt combo, can you tell me what you have and maybe post a couple of close ups of the door lock and handle?

Thanks,

Re: PacNW bottom jobs

Roger The machine shoots a crystallized mineral (not sand). When the mineral grains hit a surface they shatter which is what does the paint removal. Also, it goes on damp so there isn't any dust plumes like you get from soda blasting and dry sand blasting. Did you ever get Nighthawk stripped? This ...

Re: PacNW bottom jobs

Hey guys, the good weather has everyone's juices flowing early. I'm booking (and doing) bottom jobs already. Trailer boats at my shop, big boats at the yards. I finally got a Farrow blasting machine that strips and preps bottoms without the big mess of wet or dry sandblasting, soda blasting, chemic...

Re: Here Kitty Kitty

What does that boat cost? My guess is $175K the way it sits. I looked at them (Cats) at their shop. Great guys up there and a good builder of cats. A 25’ Cat at the time (2004) was about $150K. Too bad Andy is out of business. :banghead: No way it cost $175,000. We built one a year ago ( 30'x11') a...

Seeing those ACB boats in person has really made me appreciate my decision on a MAXCAT. They were one of many boats I looked at before buying a MAXWELD. Small inside and not very attractive outside. Not sure how they ride, but I have seen them in passing  out in the ocean. I also looked at ...
