Re: Single Or Duals?????
If you're never venturing very far, go with the single. I am planning to set up my boat with twin etecs, separate fuel systems and separate electrical systems. Yes, many will argue it is overkill, but I also want the peace of mind to go out farther than most and feel comfortable doing so. Yes, it wi...

Re: Comparing Hulls
Kevin, if you like, I can try to find photos and more info if I can have some time to do it. Perhaps add a few other hull designs too. I am very interested in learning about hull design and will be glad to exert some effort, especially if others would find it interesting/usefull. Would you like for ...

Re: Comparing Hulls
Let's add another hull. A Fishrite Seastorm (Hull E) http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii539/lkc21d/a4ddea35.jpg Kevin, where would you place this hull in the lineup? Seems as if it doesn't have as much forefoot as Hull D, but more than Hull C. Maybe a good compromise between the C and D??? Maybe ...

Re: Comparing Hulls
Kevin, thanks again. It all makes sense. My next question was going to be about a following sea, but I realize there is a lot more involved than just the bow. There is a thread from several months where you explained the different factors that are involved with how a boat handles in a following sea....

Re: Comparing Hulls
Kevin, thank you, thank you. Exactly what I was looking for! I have read through your post 3 times now, will read through some more and probably have more questions later. One area I'm a little sketchy.... So hull D is the smoothest ride in short head seas and is more 'full' in the plan view waterli...

Re: Comparing Hulls
Would you presume the Lee Shore hull would be the most stable, yet most probable to pound (less deadrise) whereas the JaxonCraft will be the highest deadrise out of the four? Would the Pacific and Bayweld fall inbetween?

Comparing Hulls
Soooo...I'm interested in some feedback as to what features you guys like/don't like about several hulls. Not interested in sheerline so much nor the cabins that are in the photos. I am interested in how the boats will perform offshore. I realize looking at a few photos does not replace a sea trial....

Re: 1989 Rozema boat Built like a TANK!
Nice boat! I need to find out how to find boats being auctioned. How'd you do it? What's the beam on the boat...is it over 8 1/2 ft? I have been looking at Lee Shore as well...right now in the top 5 on my list. But...I think I'd be just as happy with an old boat like you have with some modifications...

Re: Boats for Following Seas
jj25, yes, I'm very aware of the radon hull...have ridden on a Davis 25 several times as my friend has one. I wonder why that hull has such a good reputation for following seas? What properties does it have that make it perform well? I have wondered about having aluminum radon hull too. Thanks for y...

Re: Catching King Salmon off Ediz Hook Port Angles
Nice little boat. I like it. Would be interested in fuel usage numbers too if you have a chance. Have you guys thought about shooting some Utube videos of your boats in action? It'd be cool to see them offshore bucking the waves.

Re: Local WSB and Barracuda
As the squid spawn in Monterey Bay, the fish hang around and slurp up the squids as they die. Most anglers will drift fresh dead squid to mimic nature. It can be hit and miss at times, and it may just depend on if/when you drift over a school of fish. They can be there for several weeks and then dis...

Re: Local WSB and Barracuda
Most of them were caught late Auguest-October. Most of the fishing here is drifting squid as the fish follow the squid into the bay as they spawn. It's just an amazing catch, especially when you can keep 3 of those big fish each day!IN2DEEP wrote:Fisherman wrote:How long did they hang around up there last year?

There's some nice WSB. Top notch eating I hear. I hope to catch my first this fall in Monterey Bay, providing they show again as they have the past few years.

Joe, I sure hope you keep posting pictures. I like your boats. What is the deadrise numbers on the swiftsure? And can you give us the scoop why your boats are monohydrons instead of warped hulls?
