Neat, another big aluminum boat headed for Alaska! Are you shipping it or driving it up? My trip starts in two weeks. Where are you going to keep it? Keep the pictures coming.

Re: MMSI Info.
I have a Icom 504, but I have not yet used DSC yet. I have read the manual, and I understand the basic operation. Have any of you guys used this, and is it very useful? It seems to me that the two main uses is if a friend is fishing and doing well and does not want to say where he is at on the radio...

Re: 2006 Seawolf 30x10.5
Sorry for the slow reply. That is Gary's boat. I spoke with him while mine was getting built for advice, he even came up when I was taking delivery of my boat and went for a ride with me (we should have gone and seen Chaps!). I know a lot of the hours on this boat came from a 5 week trip to Alaska h...

Re: Adding a cockpit helm station
Welder, Did the guy that arc'ed the bearing do something really dumb to cause this? It does not seem that a battery ground would effect this to me. Did he have his welder grounded to the motor or something? I just noticed the funny part of your boat picture -- Double parked across two handicap spots...

Re: Adding a cockpit helm station
Nice work Chaps,
Did you have any issues welding to the existing structure? What prep did you have to do before welding? Is there anything that you have to watch out for welding on the boat with the electronics on board?

Duckworth Jetboat for sale
Not that any of you guys are going to come to AK to buy this, but I thought I would post it here since the opinions flow freely. The way I see it is the downside to this boat is that it is a 1993, hull, but it really looks great compared to newer boats, and is mechanically perfect. Things are still ...

Re: New Boat?
Another question for you is what is your budget? The amount you can spend is almost unlimited. As for the deadrise, I have a Seawolf 31' that I have just 40 hours on now, and will be ruing up to AK this spring. I heard the same thing about deadrise; it is 14 degrees at the transom, but different fro...

Re: Big Alloy
Jetty, I met Case this winter in Juneau when I was there on business. He has a new baby, so I imagine life has changed for him a bit and it is harder to be gone chartering all the time. Pete, I noticed on your picture of your GC your davit is out when you are running and the motor is lashed down to ...

Re: Big Alloy
I've seen that passage maker over in Shilshole, pretty nice. Rozema's are top line boats, had one here in Eagle Harbor for awhile, owner got tired of me drooling on it . . . When you gonna visit the island mon? Dying to see your boat! OK, now I am really kicking myself! I was right there and spaced...

Big Alloy
I was down in Washington last week running my boat around and ran across a couple of nice alloys that make mine look like a baby. The first one is in Shilshole marina. Now that is a nice tender. http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk307/resdat/098dc1f3.jpg The next one is in the yard where I store my...

Re: Transducer for Alum Hull
Sorry I don't have a better picture, but at the right side of this picture you will see a level sitting on a bracket. My builder used a Stalinless Airmar 1KW transducer, but placed it on this bracket outside the hull. This way you don't have to drill a big hole in the bottom of your boat. It works g...

OK, here is the interior picture, which I think is the final one in this build series. I go down tomorrow to take delivery of the boat. The seats on the port side flip forward for a full dinette, and the dinette breaks down into a berth. http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk307/resdat/Seawolf%20Buil...

Re: Seawolf 31' Build
OK, now you hit a sore spot. I have a slip in Seward; I finally came up on the list this year (good/lucky timing). I have been on the Whittier list for years, and I am currently something like 77 on the list. The new harbormaster is really making progress, and says that I am 2-5 years out instead of...

Re: Seawolf 31' Build
Pete, I am not sure about if they can do a slider door or not. I can't imagine they cannot, but this is their standard setup and I never asked about any options on the door. It seems like the slider would not require a clear area next to the door in the cockpit. Is that the main advantage? One thing...

Re: Seawolf 31' Build
Well the boat is in the water and doing well. It has been through testing, and is waiting for me. I will be down next week to take delivery of it and spend a few days in the area getting use to it. The plan is to come down for another week in March, and then again in May to run it up the inside pass...

Re: Seattle Boat Show Pictures?
The only other alloy price I grabbed was on the Harbercraft Kingfisher 3335 for $236,907. The interesting thing with that boat is, the Ocean Sport Roamer is almost the same thing in NON ALLOY but priced at 368k for the 30' model. Bob Bob, I would have to say (imo) that the Kingfisher and the Ocean ...

Sorry, I don't know the specifics of the wipers or the door. The door has a vertical sliding window for ventilation, and they are both whatever standard is for the Seawolf.

Re: Seawolf 31' Build
All of the woodwork, metal work and rigging are done in house. The only thing that they outsource that I am aware of is the upholstery. It will have a 9.9HP Yamaha kicker that can be controlled by the cockpit helm station. It also has a built in 9 gallon gas tank for the kicker since the main motor ...
