Re: Outrigger Rigging
Great question John. Since we trailer long distances at high speeds I think we need something that is not going to be tangled into a giant knot when we arrive at the boat launch. The Telescopic outriggers leave a bunch of line to deal with when collapsed for trailering. I know I would have problems....

vhs radio
Reading through all the new radios for sale is making me a little nuts. It seems that some can display the gps location of the boat you are talking to without any wiring or upgrades. If I'm reading this right the Icom IC M604 is one of these units.(Built in class D DSC) What does this mean?

Re: wheels vs bunks for trailers
This is the first boat I've had with bunks and I'll never go back to wheels.
This boat is by far the easiest to load I've ever owned, just drive right on every time comes on perfect. I'll never go back to rollers and can't wait to trade my roller trailer on my small boat to a bunk trailer.

Re: Pacific 2025V Fuel Tank Replacement?
the problem is that there is only one vent line , the newer models have two vent lines one at the back of the tank and one at the front of the tank. The old models pre 2005 have a single vent line on the front of the tank only. Jay knows about this, but when asked simply said that it meets coast gau...

Re: Cape Ann Fisherman..Put the Cod Rods away
Darn, I have been itching to try out my new jigging setup. I guess I can wait a little while, but if I don't go fishing soon I will explode. I just know it I will explode.

Re: Regs on BFT
This year we should see two different groups of BFT on the bank, those returning from last year 60"-65" if there is food to keep them here and a group of smaller fish 30"- 35" which were just east all last season but I'm hoping they will show up and stay on the bank to make for s...

Re: Rock Salt 26' Pilothouse - Thoughts?
How about two gas tanks down low where the ballast might go like on the cape cod marine 26' and maybe a single diesel under the center console. and access to all bilges like the contenders.

Re: Backrest for Pacific 23ht
I remember someone saying they figured a way to make the rear back rest more comfortable on the B2B seats. Anyonehave pictures of this or remember who did this? The rear back rest hit you right in the middle of the back and needs to be raised somehow.

Re: Backrest for Pacific 23ht
I wasthinking a tool holder for pliersand a bait knive would be perfect on the back of the backrest. and maybe a holder for the life ring. Was the backrest an option on Jays boats? Jay do you have any? Hi John and Happy New Year. My browser has been down since the power outage, so I have been offlin...

Re: GPS could not find or keep signal
I think most of them are all the same. The GPS is acctually in the antenna itself and the chartplotter is just the screen on which the information is diplayed. Mine is by sitex, but I think they all work the same unless you have a seperate GPS system.

Re: GPS could not find or keep signal
I have had the same troubles with mine. On mine it turned out to be moisture in the gps antenna mounted on the t-top. now I keep a plastic bag wrapped around the antenna and no problems. I really should replace the antenna.
