Re: Land loving NOOB looking for Boat advice....
The Klamath has a good design and good freeboard. I really like the way they look. It was one of the boats I was considering. I got an Alumaweld so I would be OK if I hit an oyster bed. A little more expensive than the Klamath for a first boat.

Yep! I like to support local stores. Yesterday I went to Office Depot to get a new printer combo. I found one I liked, but they had none in stock. I was speaking to the "Department Manager" at the time. I told him OK, when are you going to get more in stock. He says maybe tomorrow. I said ...

They were one of the brands I looked at when I was looking for my big boat. They seem to be a well designed, quality, semi-custom boat. I spoke with the owner. Nice people.

Our elected representatives continue to stun me with their fiscal irresponsiblity. We need term limits to keep them from getting rich off our backs. Just ask yourself why someone would spend millions of dollars to get elected to a $100,000 job.

I put a SE Sport on my 23. The only difference I noticed was better low speed handling around the dock.

Re: Silver Streak Boats
My Alumaweld is not painted. I never had a problem with glare. My brother has a Lund that is painted. The paint gets scratched. Scratches on an unpainted boat just add character.

That boy needs to go sell used cars. I may get a little dirty out on the boat, but it sure isn't from the aluminum.

I love when the water slaps the hull. It is music to my ears. Everything has a resonance. Adjust your RPMs a bit one way or the other.

Re: Aluminum Gheenoe?
Jetty The Gheenoes are much different than the pirogues. We have a lot of them around here. They seem to me to be a small bay boat. You can put some big outboards on the Gheenoes. Personally, I don't really like the Gheenoes. They seem to have a high center of gravity. I wouldn't want to be caught o...

Re: Doogy from the Great lakes
I believe that Bayrunners are made by Klamath boats. I like the Klamath boats, but I wanted a heavier gauge hull. So I bought a new Alumaweld-and I live in Florida. If you find a boat you like, find a dealer buying West Coast boats, and ask him if you can include your boat on a shipment at his cost.

I talked to Armstrong about a small mono hull boat. They referred me to Croizer. He used to work for Armstrong.

Another thing you might want to consider is a product like Keel Guard. Run it all the way from stem to stern. Let it take the abuse.
