Re: I also have cracks in some welds

Thanks that's a good pic, I have been looking at some others on the pacificboats.com site as well. Purely for budgetary reason, I most likely will reinforce/rework the existing top along the lines of Kevin's suggestions. For now I'm forced to live with the mickey mouse backyard look given the budget...

Re: I also have cracks in some welds

Damn Kevin, thank you. Best two cent value ever. I had to read your post several times to digest everything. After you present your case, I think you're right about the force being lateral and not longitudinal. So if I understand your proposed solution; * extend the console's aft L bracke...

I also have cracks in some welds

My 2004 Pacific 2025 has cracks in the 4 welds around the door to the center console. Could the cause or at least a contributing factor be the aftermarket hard top and how it is bolted directly to the console with no other support? I'm pretty sure these cracks have gotten worse over the 3 plus years...

Naragansett Bay Stripes

Finally got out last night for the maiden voyage of 2011, it's been a long winter. Hit the ramp at 5:30pm with dos amigos, a bucket of eels and high hopes on the evening outgoing tide. No one is at the ramp and the parking lot is empty save a few trailers. Dang I was prepared for battle; Memorial Da...

Not a lot of options this time of the year, your either offshore for charlie or inshore for tog. Everything else is either gone or out of season. Stripers are in season but mostly gone except for some schoolies. Woke up this am to an inch of accumulated sleet :skillet:

Re: Pacific 1925 update and new HDS7 and seating

Nice boat MacCTD. We'll be fishing Groton CT - Race area Sept 23-25 if you want to come down and float some more armor. I've seen another 2025CC once down there, and what looks to be an old 19' Pacific docked next to the ramp. I've been meaning to post this photo for a while.

Re: My Rig

looks like a Johnson/Suzuki 140, how does it perform? That's exactly what it is. She runs great, quiet and with a lot of power, 140 is max for the boat. 40 knots @6100rpm, 25 knots @ 4200 rpm. I never have figured out the fuel economy but don't fill her up very often, I'm very happy with the Suzuki.

Re: Cape Cod Bay

Launched from Plymouth and ran over to PTown-Race Point, FAC conditions, probably averaged 27-28 knots . It was Carnival week over there. Lots of boats on the water, no plate boats that I saw.

I'm guilty of 'taketh more then giveth' with regard to this forum and have gained tremendous knowledge from AAB and want to thank everyone for that. I have never posted pictures of my boat so here is the Tin Cup. First as purchased used a few years back, 20' Pacific CC with a (super fugly) aftermark...

Cape Cod Bay

We had an excellent trip in Cape Cod Bay today. Having had a solid striper outing the Sunday prior, I hoped to repeat this with my brother and his two girls down from VT. The bite was on and we slayed them. We caught fish consistently all day in great weather conditions. Sent them home with a full c...

That's great bass!!!

Last Saturday night I take my 7yr old fishing at a local pond for largemouth bass. He is a complete maniac about fishing and has been specifically requesting to go fishing for largemouth for a long time now. That day he says that we should use shiners for the bass, so we do. On this first cast he na...

I have to give credit where its due. I inquired about "Black Lab" decals for my new to me boat. From the advise of Jay from BLM I contacted Brendan from Mobile Impressions. I agreed on a size & before I even paid they arrived at my door. They are top quality ! I would recommend this g...

Around here, native New Englanders are known as Yankees (not the obnoxious overpaid NY kind :nutkick: ). Re: Boga Grip

They are handy to have and great if you want to weigh fish. I got a good quality 60lb Cabelas knock off on sale for about $40, maybe 2 years ago. I got it in the store, I don't see it on their web site, also have the float that AT had posted a pic of. I would not pay Boga's full retail price, I don'...
