all my hatch lock are corroded shut. My fault as I never needed to use them before now, but now what? Does anyone know who they are made by so I can call an order replacements? Maybe some one knows how to save them

Re: Those Armstrong deck plates, we have?? (Pacific bothers)
I caulked mine shut and will cut the caulk if I have to get in there. The rear one was filling my bilge when I back troll, so I had to do something and that seemed like a simple solution.

Re: going to try an ETEC
New ETEC has been installed. A great little motor. Faster then the 30 Johnson I had on there before and seems to have much more torque. It's able to puss me and my big fishing buddy right along. I will have to get a GPS on board to measure the speed, but it seems like we are going close to 30.

Re: How much 12 volt in your hull?
Is your boat in the water? At a marina? You should not read a voltage from your negative terminal to the hull. Is your motor attached to the hull with a metal connection? If so isn't the motor itself attached to the negative terminal of the battery?

Re: going to try an ETEC
Not yet, I drive by every day to see if my boat has moved. You think for that kind of money for a 25hp I would get some service. My boat actually got deeper in the line of boats waiting for work.

Re: New (old) McCurdy Rhodes/Luke-built ocean racer
Love your boat, We sailed alot when our children were young. It is the perfect time to be able to take off for a couple weeks at a time without having to get back for baseball games, band camp, etc... I'm sure some of the more technical members will help answer your questions, but I just can't resis...

everybody knows that spot now. Until Saturday we were the only boats there. I guess that's what you get when you post you are killing the haddock and a picture of your boat.

Re: Transducer
Did you install as per instructions? Looks like you might have to reverse the shim fat side down, or use the bigger shim fat side down. and you may be a little to low. But before drilling new holes try it, you may be just fine.

Re: going to try an ETEC
they usually check boats the first few days, after the first week things really slow down. But if they see someone going across the lake at higher then normal speed they will come check you out. So you can probably get away with your 25 just don't open it up.

going to try an ETEC
My 1991 Johnson 20 on my 1980 16' loanstar is finally going to be replaced. The 20 still starts every time and runs all day with never a problem, but I'm going to be a little kinder to the environment and try the new ETEC25. Use this mostly on the lake I live on and some trips to the Quabbin. I'm ga...

Re: Stellwagon Report (edit)
21cc did you order the c map card? If so there is a wreck on the east side of the NWC that will put you in the area for the haddock. We leave the dock behind the HS at about 6am. Hope to see you out there
