If it is too difficult to put diesels in the Cope patrol boat, maybe you could put a walk-around pilot house on the 34 fast cruiser from cope? It is 34 by 11'7" and already set up for I/O. It looks like a very tough hull!

Did you say earlier that you had a sleeping pod on your boat? If so, where will it be located?
Thanks,

Re: Been Gone a while
Hey Reelsong: I like the boat you built last year. It looks good, so I bet you will sell it quick. If you are looking to build a new boat as big as 35 by 10 or 12, how about a cat with walk-around pilot house? There are some cool plans available, including some from Australia or New Zealand. Cheers,...

Cool Boat! Good luck with the sale. The obvious question is, what bigger boats are you looking at?

Re: O/S brackets, Alaskan Bulkheads?
I think whether you want a bracket or sealed cabin really just depends on the water/weather conditions where you use your boat, how you use you boat, what you want to do, etc.

I'd like to see the sleeper cab on a 23. Not that I would spend the night on the boat--but it would be great for storage and for sleepy kids to take naps while the grownups fish!

Re: Comparing Hulls
I hope I can ask an additional question. Hull E does not seem to have much of a reverse chine. If that is right, how does that affect the overall performance of the hull? I am guessing it makes Hull E a little less stable when drifting or at trolling speeds?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: New Propulsion System...
Hey Tim: Have you been on the boat for a test of reverse? I think you said that the gearbox has a reverse drive. Excuse my lack of technical knowledge, but does that mean water gets sucked up the back end and pushed out the forward intake to move the boat in reverse? And if so, how do you steer in r...

It would be a shame to have a boat like that built and then have to sell it so soon. But, you never know what folks are going through--could be some major, life changing event or something like it.

Thanks Tim: The animation is really neat! I am sure it would take me years just to understand the animation. I bet you are subject to a nondisclosure agreement and, if it were me, I would be dying to talk about it. Let us know what is going on, when you are allowed to talk about it. Cheers, Mike

The jetcraft boats are ok. I think folks on this site are more familiar with the kingfisher line of boats made by the same company. They are decent for a production type boat. But there have been a few folks with complaints about them. Good luck with your boat search--it is a big part of the fun. Mike

Nice Job Brett! I am jealous. I know wood (I am a carpenter) but don't do well with metal. Maybe one of these days I will learn to weld. That is a boat you can really be proud of. Let us see some pics when you finish the inside too!

When I catch an unusual fish, I like to look in the stomach to see what it eats. When I caught a cabezon a few years ago, I found a couple of good size crabs in its stomach that had been swallowed whole! So their may be some truth behind the diet/color theory. I also believe that the cabezon is the ...

Armstrong Website
Hey, did anyone else notice that Armstrong has re-worked its web site? They have a few different mono hulls on display, but I was surprised and disappointed to not see the 30 foot walk-around cabin catamaran that everyone seems to like for alaska fishing. Perhaps the new website is still a work in p...
