It's a solid boat that was custom 5 or 6 years ago. It has a 24 degree dead rise so it's really good in the chop, but it's a pain the the butt to keep trimmed. I'm thinking a 20 degree dead rise would be perfect for offshore fishing up here. This was a memorable day last summer. This is a combinatio...

The Other Alloy
I've been posting about my Pacific.. But I haven't posted about the boat I practically live on during the summers. It's a 27' Almar with twin 130's. Super nice boat that I captain for one of the finer lodges up here in Alaska. I spend most of my time on the outer coast of Prince of Wales fishing the...

Meant to add.. I was trolling with 100ft of cable out when I ran over those fish.. But the wind and the tide had my flasher at about 60ft.. I was praying that one of them would come up to hit my bait, but they didn't. It was blowing hard yesterday. I tried to turn around on those fish, but it just d...

Fish Finder Pics..
I'm curious what looks like what for you guys. Today I snapped a pic of some king salmon I drove over.. The pic is a bit fuzzy as I didn't focus well due to the waves.. I'm addicted to my fish finder and spend many long days staring at it. I'll post some more pics asap.. http://img.photobucket.com/a...

Yeah I love those Ling. They hit really hard, and then kinda give up as the come up.. Kinda nice that you don't have to fight them that much!! They often grab rockfish that you are reeling up. You'll be cranking up a small fish and then just about get pulled out of the boat. It's fun. Very good eati...

2-3 days typical soak time for me, but I heard of guys pulling in as little as 4 hours. The prawns are huge but I don't have good pics on file.. It was very calm when I took the pic. When I actually went to make the set, it was raging. I got all the crab set and 10 of the shrimp down before I had to...

Hey Kelper! Tell me about those downriggers. How are they attatched? Nice Ling and Salmon!! Dave, I had a local welder weld on a bracket. Very easy. They are electric so I needed power. I rigged up removable harnesses as I didn't want to drill any holes and wanted the option to remove quickly as th...

Re: V1925 or V2025 and Jackplate
Hello - Got my first question for you all. Has anyone heard or had experience with a 1925 or 2025 and a Jackplate? My goal is to be able get into the shallows on the CT river for fishing and tasty winged creatures, while still being able to venture out to Plumb Gut or the Race on good days. Thanks ...

A few more 07 pics This is a ling cod. I had a day off from charter fishing and a friend and myself took my skiff to the outer coast of Prince of Wales. We caught and released a ton of ling similar to the one pictured. A charter boat had released a monster world record ling (non-res have a slot and ...

Hey Smart People!
Alloy boat owners are smarter, right? Haha I'll tell you what, I am so thankful that I have the 1925v with the 90 Honda. I can fish the same water as the bigger boats and burn only a fraction of the fuel. My name is Joel. I am a Charter Capt. up in Alaska. I use a big boat for summer work, and my sk...

Salmon and Halibut!
Glad I found this forum, as I'm sure other places were getting sick of me posting pics of my fish/boat! I have the 1925 Pacific with a 90 Honda. Some of my pics are on the Pacific Website, but I'll scrounge up a few new ones. For salmon I fish with downriggers. The Pacific is the perfect trolling bo...
