Re: Wiper Fluid Pump
IF you have a pressured fresh water system, like most of the pilothouse models, it is easy to tap into the cold water line and add a solenoid operated valve. From the valve all you do is run a line to the windshield wipers. The pressure from the main pump operates the washers. But if you live in the...

Aluminum Bass Boat
Here is a question for Lester and the the other folks in "Bass Country" I just got back from a two week trip to America (actually it was Texas and Oklahoma). While in Texas we went to Lake Toledo Bend where my brother-in-law has a lake house. While we were out on the lake in his "plas...

Re: Happy Thanks giving!
Hey Pete: Did you ever put a cover on the back of Patience or did you have to shovel the snow and ice off of the deck so you could get inside to enjoy that brown ale? This weather SUCKS! I think we need to go spend the winter with Jetty. Fried a couple of turkeys myself. Hope you and all of t...

Re: Extending my bottom
Pete: Here is a picture of my "Pod". As you can see it is an extension on the hull and is 33" in length. Since it is a separate sealed chamber it adds flotation to the stern of the boat. Daigle has put a lot of research and engineering into this "Pod" - it is not just a flat...

Re: Extending my bottom
Jay: GlacierCraft is the only Manf that I know of that uses the term "CET" . I think it means Closed Extended Transom. EagleCraft, my boat, uses the term "Pod". What they are is an extension of the hull below the engine bracket but not as wide as the entire bottom. It is a separa...

Re: Extending my bottom
Pete: She does look a little low in the stern but not bad. I don't think you have a lot of extra "Stuff" in the stern and GC has built a number of the 30' so why do you think she is sitting low? Have you talked with Scott about what he thinks the cause is? I have never heard of enlarging t...

I guess we will see how the new cover does in the wind. Winds at the house right now are 30G50 MPH and are forecast to be as high as 80 MPH tonight. Ever seen a big blue tarp in 80 MPH winds? They shred very easily - I know from experience - hence the new super cover! Jetty: Hurricanes officially st...

Pete: "Do you forsee any problems with the zipper freezing?" No. Willy, Busters son who is mostly running the business now, repaired a large Motorhome cover for me many years ago and he installed one of these BIG zippers after the original small one failed. Absolutely no problems - and I g...

Jim: No offense taken and from the color (and the fact there are a gazillion blue tarps in AK) it would be logical to assume it was a tarp. I am interested in seeing what the other folks on the forum do/think about covering their boats for the winter. Since winter is coming on so fast I think all of...

Re: Finished...
JRogers asked "What's your theory in tarping the back of the boat?" Well Jim I guess with all of the space I have in the back, including the dry and wet storage areas and knowing it will be full of ice in the spring I don't want to take a chance on damaging the boat. I have heard of boats ...

"Natural" Aluminum Boats
Jetty & Jay: When Steve Daigle built my boat he “strongly” suggested I “consider” painting the boat. A lot of his customers have their boats painted and they really do look sharp – especially when they are new. In fact his boats look good for many years because he has the equipment (huge, dedica...

I need to chime in here. Sara is the real deal - I can't think of a better choice for the GOP VP slot. I am sure we will see pictures of her soon showing her commercial fishing in Bristol Bay, or skinning a caribou or moose, ridding her snow machine etc. She is honest and very tough - a great choice...

CanCan: Daigle Welding is building a 42' now: http://www.eaglecraft.bc.ca/boats_cruiser42.html The only issue you would have is if you wanted to use it for charter you have to fight the Jones Act issue. I understand you can get a waiver to use a foreign built hull for commercial/charter but I don't ...

Dream Catcher is Home!
:D Let’s try this again. After a very long time Dream Catcher is finally home in Alaska. Here is the Reader’s Digest version of how we got her from the Daigle Welding and Marine in Campbell River British Columbia to her slip in Seward Alaska. Arrived at Campbell River for the acceptance inspection o...
