Re: Bottom Paint ??? What are you using???

I'm sure Chaps will chime in soon, he used Flexdel Armor for my boat last spring.

Re: Pacific V2325 vs V2600

All things being equal the longer boat will ride better because it's longer and heavier.

Weight has a huge effect on ride quality although it generally requires more power, etc.

I looked at Pacific but decided to go with Crozier to get a true custom boat.

Feel free to PM me if you want.

Also check out his Facebook page, you can see his builds as they progress.

Chad has built several in that size range, with self bailing cockpits.

Re: Maine downeasters vs. PNW aluminum boats

I'll add on to Chaps comments - 1) Most welded Alu hulls are a constant deadrise design, some are variable deadrise, all depends on the NA. Variable deadrise will have a better ride although you usually lose some hull volume forward. 2) Their main function is to serve as rub rails, not all hulls hav...

Re: 28' Crozier / Hunt - New build

Sea trials! Complete boat with no gas or water weighed 7,980# - about 250# less than the NA's estimate. It was a cold and windy day in Port Townsend last Friday - 40 degrees, 20+ kts. wind and 2' - 3' chop. Boat ran very well, on plane at 3500 rpm going 20 kts. This speed was very comfortable...

After reading all of this I'm glad I had Chaps do the bottom job on my boat
and that the hull was built with 5086-H116.

Re: 28' Crozier / Hunt - New build

Power is on, astute eyes will note that it is a used 350 - I am one of many waiting on my new Yamaha but that
is another story - I have power for the coming season which is all that matters.

Sea trial and in the water photo's soon.

Re: 28' Crozier / Hunt - New build

My 350' motor yacht...... :rotfl:

We have a crane at out place in KTN, I can keep the trailer out of salt water and avoid the whole
boat ramp scene. Plus it's super convenient for 'quick haul" jobs.

Re: 28' Crozier / Hunt - New build

Concern over hot exhaust when walking along the port side deck, this way it goes
out the port side shell plating.

I will discuss with Chad about putting a heat shield on the wood - thanks for the heads up.
