Re: Alloy Fun and Dive Door
I love the dive door design with the integrated ladder. My rig is at a local welder right now getting a ladder bracket mounted and some other minor things.

Not sure what your interests are but seeing the Sox in Fenway is always a good time, but not cheap. You can easily buy tickets on ebay or infront (scap) of the stadium before the game. Duck Tours sound corny but you get a great tour. The raw bar at the Union Oyster House is always fun if your walkin...

Beginning in 2010, in order to fish recreationally for finfish in Rhode Island's marine waters, saltwater anglers and spearfishers must have: * A RI Recreational Saltwater Fishing License, or * A National Saltwater Angler Registration, or * A recreational saltwater fishing license from a reciprocal...

Check your engine mounting height. On my 2025, I raised the mounting from the lowest position to the highest position. I have a long shaft engine and this was clearly installed too low. This adjustment has increased my fuel performance around 25-30%. I figured the mount height was an issue when I no...

Re: Fishers Island
Sure, the Fishers Island area is perfect for your new 19' rig, lots of protected and very fishy water. It's one of my favorite areas to fish. Only draw back is that it may be ~3hr trip for you (I'm in Upton, due west of Boston) I will be using my boat out of Weymouth this weekend, still looking to g...

Fishers Island
Brought the boat down to Groton CT on Monday to fish the Fishers Island - Race area on Monday night with a good buddy from work. Everything was perfect to fish the outgoing during sunset, glass conditions. On our first drift with eels, Marc comes tight. He was pumped to land and release his first re...

Managed to pick up 1 keepa' in the bay on Friday night. Thankfully, 1 is all it takes to keep the kid happy! Will be at it again tonight down in Groton, CT - Fishers Island area.

Re: Quick RI Fluke Trip
That's the plan; pick up the eels, pick up the kid at school, come back pick up the boat and go. Hopefully on the water by 4:15 and into the pogies shortly thereafter, fish into the evening. I love lining eels when it gets dark.

Re: Quick RI Fluke Trip
Fished Gansett bay hard last Sunday targeting stripers; trolled umbrellas, threw plastics, threw swimmers, jigged bucktails, butterfies and parachutes. All that and no love from the linesiders. Got started at little later then ideal but still, nary a tap, not even a schoolie. Water temps were 51-53 ...

Re: Considering a Pacific 20 HT
BeachDweller, I run a 20' Pacific w/ 140 Johnson in MA, RI and CT waters. If you are planning to use in protected waters, the 20' is great, easy to trailer, similar deck space to most 23' glass boats, extremely fuel efficient, you can fish 3 adults reasonably well, although 2 is much better. If you ...

Re: 3 Day Canyon Trip for Tuna/Swords
Mojo,
That's the one. South of the parking area is shaded picnic grounds with cooking pits. Great spot, but maybe not a good central location for a NE Meet & Greet. I met Clambo and OC at this ramp.
I also like 21CC's spot... we could do island paintball warfare weekend.

Re: 3 Day Canyon Trip for Tuna/Swords
The ramp OC is referring to is Haines Memorial State Park in Barrington in Bullock Cove. This would be a great facility for a 1 day gathering. Nice ramp with a two lanes and docks on either side. Also large picnic grounds with cooking pits. I love the camping on the Boston Harbor Islands idea, count...

Reel Cleaning and PM
Thought it might be interesting to get some some dialog going on reel cleaning and preventative maintenance that people are doing. I only rinse my reels with fresh water after every salt water use and lubricate about 2-3 x per season. It would be great to see photos of a thorough PM job on both cast...

Jetty threw down the challenge and he's right, pic's good. Went out today in Narragansett Bay with my son and visiting father in-law. It was chilly, but not as cold as the clothes suggest. Thankfully my father in-law is always taking pictures and got some good shots of my rig. Had to settle for big ...

Re: HOW TO LAUNCH YOUR BOAT.........
This spring I watched a group of guys drop a glass boat directly onto the ramp in RI. Before backing the trailer down, they unhooked the bow winch line. As soon as they hit the incline of the ramp, the boat rolled right off the rollers and smash right onto the ground. :nutkick:  It was probabl...

Re: Enclosing my V2325 center console
I have a 20' pacific that has had similar work done to it. The original owner had a hard top fabricated and bolted directly onto the center console. It ain't pretty but it works great for me. The first picture shows the vertical grab rails that I added in the spring. Hope this helps.

Re: 23' Black Lab/Honda 225 engine mounting height
I started a post on this earlier, I'm dealing with the same issue. I'm running a 140 on a 20' Pacific. I had a local marina ($20) raise my engine up from the lowest to the 3rd hole early in the season. The result was a 25% gain in efficiency, I'm gonna go up one more to the last hole at the end of ...

Re: 23' Black Lab/Honda 225 engine mounting height
Welder, great suggestion. It looks like I could gain 1 more inch by drilling new mounting holes, this may be about perfect if raising it to the 4th hole doesn't do the trick.
