Re: Diversion pics
G'Day 247, Where are the other 246?? OK............mystery fitting behind bow roller. Would be a hard point to enable a chain to be attached to it which in turn would take the strain of the anchor chain via a "devils claw" or a shackle. The windless is NOT designed to hold the boat against...

Re: Mods & custo0m builds. Pacific 26 HT
I have to agree with Les. I put up a thread about my boat being built & got some gasps of amazement. Bait tanks built into the transom with overflow & drain holes running straight out of the transom. No drains into the bilge. Or my transom bait prep table which lifted out & lived on the ...

Re: Painting the inside of an aluminum boat
Elmer,
If you are concerned about a slippery floor, there are strip non skid products which can be glued into position. I would not cover the entire floor with Rhino liner as the strips should do the job.

Re: Painting the inside of an aluminum boat
G'Day Elmer, Welcome aboard. :highfive: :highfive: I HATE PAINT. Chips, cracks, fades, costs big $$$$ but worst of all it allows alloy to corrode. Aluminium left exposed to air will quickly oxidise & the resulting dull finish remains stable due to the very thin coat of aluminium oxide. Paint, on...

Dave,
Do you change the oil in the system? With the amount of use you get out of it I would be draining the oil, flushing with new oil to clean out the system, then a final fill with new oil at least every three years but preferably two years.
Or bust out & get a Kobelt.

Hi Ding,
It is only glued to velcro strips at the transom end. The weight of the carpet plus the backing keep it in place. I can pull it up in 20 seconds.

Re: Painting the deck?
Ya gonna hate me fer sayin this...................marine grade carpet. Do not glue it down at all, use glued velcro in a few places, keep plenty of seawater on it when the blood is flying, wash it with fresh at the end of the trip. Mine has been down for nearly three years, boat is kept in the open,...

Possibly. If you are a qualified alloy welder & have built alloy boats of the type contained in kit form before. The kits do provide accurate plate sections cut to minimise waste but you still have to know all the tricks of the trade to put the pieces together.

Re: Shoot-thru transducers
G'Day dirty, The idea of using a "shoot through" ducer sounds good in theory but it has been tried down this way with dismal results. Mounting a "through hull" ducer such as a SS164 works but I have a problem cutting a BIG hole in a perfectly good alloy hull & filling that ho...

Nice boat! Wrong. They are made in China using a Noble design (double reverse chines) from local Chinese alloy & shipped to Australia in 40' containers. Final assembly of hardtop & motor fit is done here. I have seen the welds under the bog (filler) where the bog fell out under the outside ...

Trouty, If you really believe that the IDF hot roped a bunch of SF killers onto that ship to deliberately slaughter people then you are dreaming. Sure, there were fatalities. The IDF caused them. The IDF appear to have over reacted or tried to do the job with too few troops or had poor Int on the li...
