Re: Pacific 1925 and 2025 rigging ?
Cool, be interested in seeing some pictures of your new motor and hearing how it performs. I am hoping for 50mph on mine, I do not have a T-Top which will help. The 1925 is rated for 150hp, I spoke to Julie years ago and she said they increased the rating to 150 on the 1925 when they increased the t...

Pacific 1925 and 2025 rigging ?
IMG_1043 copy.jpg Noticed from the sale threads of several Pacific 1925s and 2025s there is a lot of variation in how the rigging gets from the console to motor, just curious what differences are out there. I am repowering my 1925 right now and switching from a Honda 90 to a Mercury 150 so I had to...

Re: Pacific boat fuel tank, lasted only 11 yrs.
Given the difficulty replacing or repairing the tank you might consider just using an above deck tank, Moeller or similar makes a 24 gallon that would work well. The last few years I have been using a 12 gallon portable tank just so I don't have to worry about fuel going bad. I also believe it could...

Looks nice, is the motor a 150? What is the top speed, how does it sit with the kicker on it?

Anode zinc magnesium or aluminum ?
Here is a picture of my 15 year old zinc from my Pacific 1925, I do not have any corrosion but the anodes on my outboard show some wear, I want to replace this zinc, I use the boat 80% salt water and 20% fresh. What type of anode should I be using, I have read aluminum is better for an aluminum boat...

Do you need to bottom paint in the Great Lakes? I have used my Pacific in a lake in Maine and did not bottom paint it just pressure washed it at the end of the season, just had a thin coat of slime that came right off. If you can avoid it I would not bottom paint it. When you attach stuff like rod h...

Re: WTB 19’ / 23’ Pacific
I recall reading something about the fill collapsing on the plastic tanks or something similar, they also tend to permeate fuel oder, I think they made the change to aluminum in '05 or so. Not surprised they will not work on older boats, plenty of good shops that can do the type of work you are look...

Yes, that is the one. I bought mine from a guy in CA and I am in MA, had it shipped, it was a 6 years or so ago, think it was around $0.75 a mile.

Re: Twin engines vs motor plus kicker
IMO I think a single is better, so much easier to and cheaper to maintain, plus unless you are going to have two separate fuel systems I do not see twins as a huge safety advantage over a single, performance wise I believe on that hull single will be better as well.

Saw that one on the hull truth, looks good for the year, curious what changes Pacific made since that year, I believe this one has a plastic tank for example.

Re: how to test for Electrolysis with multimeter
I believe it is impossible to isolate the hull as the outboard is grounded and and attached to the hull, my Pacific is the same way. Just make sure you have the correct anodes installed on the engine and hull.

Re: Suzuki DF150 vs. Yamaha Y150
If Mercury is an option I would take the Mercury 150, probably the cheapest of the three, great dealer network and warranty and made in America by an American company. The motor also has a great reputation. If your only choices are Suzuki or Yamaha I would take the Yamaha over the Suzuki, better war...

Shrink wrap concerns
I may have to store my Pacific outside this winter, thinking of shrink wrapping it down to the chine or just to the rub rail, I am concerned the shrink wrap could trap water and discolor the aluminum on the sides of the hull. Has anyone had this happen or is it something I should not be concerned ab...

Re: New guy here.
Great choice for the motor, I have been researching that motor as I want to repower my 19' Pacific from a 90hp Honda which is carbureted to the ProXS115, with my Honda I can run 36mph, I think I would see low 40s with the 115. My boat is also rated for max 150hp but I was thinking the same about bei...

Cool video, those boats are definitely tough, good video for when people talk about how tough some NON ALLOY boat is. Those mud motors are really cool, always blown away at how fast they can move a boat like that is only a few inches of water.
