I've heard of too many cooks in the kitchen, but is there such a thing as too many guides (who can't cook) in the boat? ;-)

Larger boat builders?

I'm looking to begin construction on something bigger... SeaWolf can't/won't build anything much bigger than I've already got, so now I have to look for a new builder to work with. My initial "wish list" calls for 40'-50', 20 knot (or greater) cruise at something under 25 gph. It's got to ...

Hmm... I've had my same bottom paint since 2002, and the Can Can has been in the water year-round the whole time. Never had to re-paint, change zincs twice per year (actually, only replaced the hull anode once...) and all is just fine. The COLOR of growth depends whether she's kept outdoors or in th...

You're right... it's a contrast thing. You've got all that light blue sky, flat horizon, light colored sand, white cotton clothing, etc. Here, there's no such thing as a flat horizon unless you're on the open ocean. Even then, everything is dark grey or deep green. I prefer to see the white side of ...

How about having to ask for permission to take a charter out of the Public Marina that I paid to access because the CG is pointing their .50 cals (3 of them) at me and enforcing a 1000 yard security zone in a 950 yard-wide channel! I've had NMFS come aboard, station 2 men with automatic rifles at th...

Hey, at least you guys can drive to a semi-nearby enrollment center and get yours... There are currently no enrollment centers in AK (as of last check a few weeks ago) so I have to make an appointment, fly to Seattle (1000 miles one-way) apply, then return to Seattle to pick it up if/when it's grant...

Hi again Jim! Since you're building a SeaWolf, ask Stennar what I've got on mine... I can't think of the name of it offhand (painted before I swiped the boat from Dad...) We're going on the 7th year now, and other than spraying the drive units, I haven't touched anti-fouling paint. A few observation...

Running 50 to 150 miles to find better fishing (and get away from the tourists) is common here, but we're rarely outside the 3 or 5-mile EEZ.

4/30/08 - 1 King on the dock...

The spring/summer kings are coming! At least that's what I can assume from being on the boat at the dock all day... Popeye and Brody were out for a single 4-hour morning trip. I didn't see any fish being off-loaded, so I get to assume their production was nil. Rum Runner went out with a very light l...

The Pelican deal is a retirement wish for my folks. Back in the 60's, my Mom taught school out there, and Dad owned the Pelican Bar and Grill.
