Re: Your thoughts and input on a 16 foot skiff for a noob.
That's a great looking boat Do you want a tiller drive or would you consider a small console? I have a small "plastic" boat that I use in the skinny water that has a small center console.........love a helm vs. tiller

Pheasant
Went out Sat AM with my son and our pup. Was a bit hesitant on how she would react in the field pheasant hunting. In the water retrieving ducks is one thing but in a field with 10 other dogs and a bunch of hunters made me a bit anxious. We have not put an e-collar on her yet. All the commands have b...

Youth Deer Hunt Sat 10/3
Sat was a mess. Northeast winds blowing hard, cold drizzle just one of those miserable hunting days. As we walk the field to our stand we jump a fairly large deer from it's bed. We cross the brook and head for our stand. Nothing looks familiar. It's dark and there are leaves on the trees. We have fo...

Last Sat was youth waterfowl season. We purchased our chocolate lab "Luna" back in May and have been working with her since getting her ready for duck, dove, and pheasant season. Sat was our first real hunt with her. Although we didn't see the number of ducks flying yet as we have in years...

Re: Another old noob
New guy that's really an old guy that builds AL boats of my own design. Here is a pic of the latest start - a 25' cabin skiff. To those who might know: is there a way to get rid of those horrid emoticons doing mischief over there on the right? It's like flies crawling around on a page that you're w...

Re: Electrolysis on Pacific Skiff 22 DV
More questions than answers. Will corrosion-x attach it self to aluminum if wet? What if you can't get the corrosion-x into all the areas like the inside top of the hull stiffener? If not you will have a false sense of protection. I have read corrosion-x does not dry and remains sticky and need to ...

Re: Clamp on rod holder
Yes, same rail. How is that bait table attached? Thanks Custom built 2pc clamps that clamp around rail for bait table. I just bolted the rod holder to a bar of aluminum the same width of the rail and thru bolted the aluminum bar to the rail........that's my shotgun holder when trolling wood in the ...

Re: Electrolysis on Pacific Skiff 22 DV
I've used in on the internals of my fishing reels for years  Curios to why they are applying the stuff internal of the airplanes and the inside of the hull on the boat??? Doesn't the problems begin on the outside of the hull? If so what good would coating the inside do? Not trying to be an...

Re: White Metal Welding 18' RI Builder
Great looking boats. The 14.5 skiff looks pretty stout. Starting to see more alloy in the NE these days. I was down on the Cape last weekend and stopped by a local welding shop to check out a flat bottom skiff being built. It's really got my gears turning. starting to see more in the salt ponds in ...

Re: White Metal Welding 18' RI Builder
Kevin,
He just started building boats.
Here is his link: https://www.facebook.com/pages/White-Me ... 2433868979
Did a lot of welding on my buddies boat that he built. He built this boat for a guy over in Narragansett Bay
Looks like it serves it purpose quite well
