Re: REFRESH THE BOAT: SAND it ????
Hi, No, those are called "wraps" and they're totally different. You could really spice up a boat with that machine!!! From what I've seen they can conform to any contour and stick and hold up to the sun very well. They wrap cars so the heat given off by the metal isn't an issue. There's a ...

Re: Welding on dented matetial?????
Ya, I figured a simple "have at it, not problems" was not in my future.
It's not near anything structural or any other welds. The dent has been there for years and years and the only real dent in the boat. Maybe a hole saw, a big bag of $, and a welder will make this problem go away!

I never leave the dock w/o my rubber floor!! I bought truck bed Mats and they're great!
Mats with holes would not work for me.

Welding on dented matetial?????
Hi,
I have to have a small spot welded that's on a nice base ball size dent like the boat took a line drive hit. 1/4 hull on the bottom.
Are there any warnings I need to know because the welding will be on this dented, stretched and deformed aluminum?

Good video, was the camera attached to your waiste? I liked the "burn" you gave your alloy brothers. If you polish your boat to a shine the amount of people asking "is that boat stainless steel" would drive me nuts. Do they ask u guys this? I get it all the time!! I still like th...

Re: REFRESH THE BOAT: SAND it ????
Just put another 41 miles on the boat today....love it. Sanding is the way to go for sure, glad you guys agree. Not sure I can do wet sanding this winter, I'll freeze!! 320, wow that's fine! I did 60 and 80 on the bottom and it looks great. Same with all the under deck areas. 320 must look very even...

REFRESH THE BOAT: SAND it ????
So my Edwing is done, the motors, electrical, welding this and that...... done. Very happy with it and it was flawless this season........ but I need a winter project. I figure I'll try to "shine her up" so I bought aluminum cleaner, 3m super duty rubbing compound and sand paper, but I'm n...

i would not install a through hull / sea-cock in a boat so thin. I'd go over the stern with a water intake hose. The rest is EZ.

This is why my Edwing sleeps on land and I rewired it 100% from bow to stern!!!!! Sorry you're having issues, have them weld up the spots and be done with it.

Re: Mooring anchor barge
Hi Bob, Looks great. Love it!!! When I need another barge you're the man for sure. When I was designing my steel barge the naval engineer said my winch cable could not be more than 6" above the deck because the computer model showed an issue. You're boat is wider than mine but it looks like you...

I know that bridge, my F250, 5.4L triton V-8 pings all the way up that bridge!! I assume you were campin near Dutch Island Harbor? Great views, great location for sure!! You had your own boat ramp too.

Re: MY 25' EDWING
I took my first real ocean run with the Edwing and I'm surprised. We ran the boat from Narragansett RI to Stonington Ct which I assume is 20+ miles each way. The downwind morning cruise was beautiful but the way back sucked! Coming home I had 4' tight chop just off the nose enough to be a pain and I...
