Re: 29' x 9' Hull New $32K

I bet it's a welding shop doing a side gig or something like that. Looks pretty good.

Too big of a cabin and not near enough deck space for my liking.
I like fat bottomed girls as well and would want some more beam.

I'm out

Re: Comparing Hulls

Here is a really nice design that has a lot of qualities of the general hull shape all rapped up into one. Bruce has been designing boat's for quite some time now and is kind of a quieter one out there. I really like this one and I have been talking to him about modifying it to suit my needs. I want...

Re: Thinning the flock.

These are Canadian geese that we were hunting (like you didn't know lol). I'm still a bit green on em though but the folks that invited me out are waterfowl crazy SOB's. They have almost 400 acres and lot's of friends near by with large farms as well so it's all private land hunting. Kinda cool. I g...

Re: My yard is being trashed

I feel the pain Les. When I was young we used to go visit relatives in Saskatchewan every summer. I remember hopping in my uncles pimped out van (kinda like the A team lol). About six of us with .22's and about 5000 rounds of ammo. We would go from field to field killing thousands of those buggers :...

Thinning the flock.

Well I took the weekend off from fishing and spent yesterday afternoon laying in a field lol. Man was it hot out at first but cooled down a bit around 6:30. We were using painted artificial grass matts and had them come right in almost on top of us. Very cool. Lucky 13 was the end result. Thanks to ...

Re: BC Tuna - We KONGED em !!!

The comradery of the boats out there was second to none. It is probably the only way I will ever go tuna fishing with my own vessel again. It works that magic by spreading out and radioing info to one another. All the stars aligned in this spot this day. Thank you to all the other boats out there. I...

Re: BC Tuna - We KONGED em !!!

We all KONGED em!!!! King Kong has nothing on the fleet of sporties that were out at Loudoun Canyon on Sunday Sept.2, 2012. A day to remember for sure. 6 boats headed out there this day and all of us loaded up in the double digits. I think there was collectively 160 plus fish caught. Pretty good for...

The pair of rock fish aren't yellow eye rock fish are they?

Good stuff guys!
They are really red with black eyes. As far as I can tell they are mature Vermillion rock fish. Not 100% though.

Re: WCVI August17&18 2012

We tried trolling around for a couple of hours on Saturday out at the wreck and managed on small coho. We decided to bomb closer in and take advantage of the high slack tide and do some hali jigging. Only one in the boat after a couple of hours jigging but it was worth it . 165 feet of water and usi...

WCVI August17&18 2012

Just got back early from 2 days up at Da Beach. We didn't pursue salmon on Friday and just had fun jigging all afternoon. Lot's of lings around and we caught some decent rock fish as well. No hali's for us on Friday. It was nice getting away from the heat on the ECVI and the foggy conditions were we...

Re: EdWing is back?

Yeah the ad was gone right away. I guess a person has to contact Ed somehow (hard guy to get a hold of) and ask him. I have been thinking about it and if he is starting to build sport boats again I would like him to draw up a bigger version of mine. Something around 28' with a 10' beam and higher si...

Re: Last couple of weekends WCVI

That would work for sure Sabs. I don't have that luxury on the Sculpin. Man power is needed for low tide with my gal. I have never measured the draft of her but I'm guessing around 18". Because of the lower dead rise and the delta planing pad that Ed designed into these boats you can launch in ...

This past weekend I took some relatives out and we had a good trip visiting and fishing. We fished about 5 miles off of Long Beach caught easy limits of chicken halibut. We managed quite a few hatchery coho as well and some smaller springs. The bigger springs are around and we heard of lot's being c...

Last couple of weekends WCVI

Two weekends ago I took some new friends out from Vancouver and we had a fun time for sure. Finished Business from here, trendsetter from SFVI forum, and a buddy of theirs. It wasn't lights out fishing but we managed some fish and had some good times. Alex with a ling cod. http://i267.photobucket.co...
