Re: Took a little longer than expected, but the trailer is "done"
Kevin and the interwebs: 1) Placement of the bunks on the lifting strakes- The V of the strake was dead center on the bunk. The bunks are lined with UHMW. The high PSI of the entire weight being placed on the on the pointy end of the strake made it very difficult to get on the trailer. I believe the...

Re: Took a little longer than expected, but the trailer is "done"
I wish! There is a lifting strake right in the way. I had them out against the i beams. It was a unknown as I didn't haul boat to measure beforehand, I was hoping for the better luck Kodiak stainless calipers, E coated slip on rotors, Brake rite electric over hydraulic actuator. 7k Dexter torsion ax...

Re: Took a little longer than expected, but the trailer is "done"
Finally some pictures. After a DOH! moment and moving the bunk supports inboard to clear a lifting strake, I am contemplating how to modify them to sit on top of the I beams to lower the boat about 2-3" and get better support.

It is expensive in the aerosol version though..
This is what I use at work. It works better than the Goo Gone stuff. Doesn't seem to have as many nasty side affects as solvents.

Re: Leaning Post Pacific 2025? Fire Dept. Center Console
Hey do you know Capt. Alan Greene? He is a friend of mine--- Now down to business, I would guess that there is no "brand" associated with it, Pacific probably has them made custom for each boat. Have you tried calling them? Maine has some wonderful marine canvas shops, I would think that y...

Re: My new to me Aluminum Cruising Tug
Brett, did you work for Fastwater Marine in Richmond BC? Or are you talking about the Aerohead? We never ended up buying the Tug. We went under contract, had it surveyed, deposit, arranged for delivery and then tried to close through a marine documentation service to reduce the complexity of importi...

Re: Aluminum/Stainless safe anti seize?
Don't worry, I keep coming with a "just a few more things" I need to get. I am still saving upwards of 40%, just not the 50% that I envisioned. On the other hand if I had the trailer built some of things I am doing wouldn't be an option. (Individual wire to each light, extra cross members,...

Aluminum/Stainless safe anti seize?
I want to use anti seize on all of my stainless hardware on my aluminum I beam trailer. Typically anti seize is high in copper..
Any suggestions? TefGel is expensive for this application.

Lewmar, Imtra, and Vetus all list aluminum bow thruster tubes on their websites, Imtra I believe lists them as 5000 series.
