Re: Pacific Boat Oregon
Hate to chime in again but have to disagree. I routinely take my V20 hard top out to fish the nasty rips of Vineyard sound, Elizabeth Islands etc etc under all but he most ridiculous conditions and never have felt it to be unsafe or "downright scary" at all, including in a beam sea. Is the...

Re: 20 ft center console
I think most folks would concur that 75hp is way too small for a 20 foot welded boat. But I can understand why you would want to put 75's on a fleet of boats to be used by folks of unknown skill and experience. For private use, a 150 or even a 200 with a 9.9 kicker would be about right. Very few fo...

Re: Pacific Boat Oregon
I've got a 20 foot pacific. It's a seaworthy boat that handles some nasty conditions but I would not take it out 25-35 miles offshore in my area (Cape Cod). That is a really long way home when the weather goes bad.

ever think about putting plain old wax on it? might keep it looking good a little longer but be easy to strip off if you want to wash it again

Dumb question perhaps but how do you drill the screws out? break the head off first then drill? I have struggled with these things before and they are a pain in the but!

Re: Your ALL-u-minn-ee-yum boats
Jetty: No kidding I don't get why Pacific wouldn't use this stuff when they put their boats together! I just had to remove the switch panel on my console to get to the fuses and the screws were so locked in I broke a couple off. Same with the compass and fire extinguisher bracket. Pain in the but S...

Re: REFRESH THE BOAT: SAND it ????
So basically your choices are: 1. tolerate the boat's appearance gradually deteriorating over time and live with it 2. bust your but periodically (every few years or so?) to sand/acid wash/reseal the boat 3. pay someone else to do it (does anyone do this sort of work?). None of these options is part...
