Fowl Weather Just Another Reason to Own Alloy !

Hi All : Was just down walking the marina on my street today. Those glass boats are a mess with all the rain this month. Anything with wood on its decks looks a mess, turning black with mildew and such. The canvas is getting ugly because of mildew, the deck teak looks just waterlogged and dark in co...

Re: Great White Caught in RI

Hi All: This is a shame this happened. I myself hate those damn fish traps out in RI sound . They are grandfathered for the time being. As far as I am concerned they are a navigational hazzard also. Many boats get cought in these traps every year. The killing of this white shark is a major problem. ...

Rock Salt 34 !

Hi All: Took a ride north this past weekend to take a break. Met with Jay and had some lunch together. Had a chance to look the Rock Salt 34 over pretty well. For the first off model this is one very nice machine. A machine it is too ! This is one Big Azz machine ! Those Yammies on it are huge too. ...

Jetty

Next switch don't be affraid to apply some waterproof grease to the key before insert. Do that every now and then
and you should be fine. As far a saving the one you have, WD40 and wiggle away until it gives a little otherwise just chuck it.
Old man salt has his way with it.

Welder/Les I don't know how much you have done to your little B series Diesel. Not sure if you are a Diesel tech or not either. However with diesels two thing always go together ( Fuel & Air ) . You can chip the diesels and let them go fuel fuel and max turbo pressure on demand but they will do ...

Hi All ! This footage has been around for awhile and is frequently shown by Stripers Forever Org. If you want this to end it will take more of us to join in and sound off. That is what you see on top. About 16 months ago the discovery channel tried to get some footage of the New England Dragger flee...

Re: Welding, any danger to outboard electronics?

Hello All ! Absolutely not under any circumstances ! It is almost a sure thing that damage will result and if you get away with it one time you surely will pay the price the next time. It not worth the little effort it takes to disconnect the components. You don't have to take the harness apart. Pop...

Welder: No sir no plot ! Just don't buy fuel on the water ! That stuff sits around for weeks at a time ! If you tank up at a high volume station you should get the freshest fuel possible. High volume stations pump more than 20K weekly. Here is another secret ! Do not store your fuel system dry ! I d...

Re: Battery Tray????

Hello All ! Battery trys .....man I'll tell you I would stick with high quality plastic battery boxes. Use only the kind that have the flat botton inside and not the elevated floor type . In the five footers the battery will pound trough the bottom of that type. Plastic battery boxes do not corrode ...

Welder: No flesh of any kind was found . No impact of any signs anywhere. There are no whales in Narragansett bay. We do have seals but not in the area that this happened. This was a year ago that this happened. I am not knocking anybody here either. I have taken notice to how the other manufactures...

New Alloy's in Naragansett Bay ? 5/30/2009

Hello All ! Popped out this morning to see if I could take a couple more Bass before the Blues start going crazy. Too late , water temp was 62 and the menhaden I worked like crazy to get in the morning ended up as appetisers. For the very first time I ran into another gent with a Alloy Pacific at th...

Hello All: As with everything we buy there are trade-offs. I like the big Hondas because they are world class engine builders and have more 4 stroke exsperience than the rest of the crowd. Yamaha is a very nice engine but working on them I know their quirks. The older ones went through CDI boxes lik...
