Jetty-
Are you posting drunk again? ;-)
Les-
That's the problem with posting new threads from one's iPhone while at their youth's soccer practice. No ability to attach pics. I'll snap a bunch in the AM when the outriggers are fitted and I can show the CanCan in her full, fish-killing glory.

Why I love my alloy boat...
I was standing at the boat yard today watching the fabricator weld 10 new rod holders and hang the brackets for my outriggers when a friend says, "you're almost out of space to put anything new!" my response: "nah... That's why it's aluminum... You can always just weld more stuff on.&...

Re: Adding a Zinc Anode
Agreed... it's not the particular format of zinc used, but rather the method of bonding and grounding used to protect whatever you're trying to protect. Side note: Anyone have the Volvo DP drives with the annoying donut zinc that you have to remove both props to change? Has anyone come up with a wor...

Re: New Seawolf Marine Website
After we had the CanCan built, my boathouse stall-mate built a 25'... For that size of a boat, I think I'd rather go with the 25' than the 22'... anything smaller is a skiff and much larger should be looking at one of the single engine 30's Stennar does... There's a few photos of the CanCan already ...

Man, these southern waters are a whole new world for me! Imagine, landing a halibut with a gaff instead of a harpoon... You guys are hard core! Nice fish, great report. Anyone interested in a meet & greet a bit farther north next year? Tuna, mahi, salmon, and sharks are all here... Besides, I ca...

Re: FS: 35' SeaWolf and Residential Property
Well... funny how all things work out sometimes... I'm now living in the above mentioned house, going to sea-trial the CanCan in a week or so, and I'll finally get my boat back sometime before 9/11/09! Missed halibut season, but I don't get why folks get so excited about the little ping-pong paddles...

Re: Coast Guard rules
Standard stuff here in the summer time too, but it's not Navy ships, it's the cruise ships right downtown. The big problem when they're escorted by the fast boats is that there often isn't 100 yards around the big cruise ships to pass. When you're on a time-table for a charter (that's gotta be back ...

Oh, I meant to offer my expertise regarding the actual topics of this thread (and not just a personal update to hijack things!) Both boats are Rozema's. The Abyssinia (the North Sea Trawler design) frequents my neck of the woods each year. She's a registered charter up here, and does much of the med...

JR, That boat is a HOUSE.    You could live in it. Looks like a really impressive build. I am sure we will see more. Keep the pics coming. When our local hydro-electric plant lost transmission lines last winter and our electric went up to over $.50/kWh, we a...

Re: Seawolf 31' Build
I have a question about the rub rails on the sides. ... I see they are stitch welded now. Long runs in a flat panel can warp the panel. [Not good] :( Will they weld them out solid or will they have some kind of sealer to stop water/ salt from being trapped behind them? They stay stitch welded. Mine...

Re: FS: 35' SeaWolf and Residential Property
She's not sold, but definitely OFF THE MARKET!!! I'm running her to LaConner for engine rebuilds and refitting this May/June. Truck her to Charleston, OR for Tuna season, and I can live a happy semi-retirement. Oh, the house in Bandon is still on the market if I don't move in there myself, and with ...

Jim- That's the Maverick over in Sitka. She's for sale again. Granted, you've got your pretty new toy already, but they do come up on the used market every so often. If they don't sell, the owners usually take them off the market and continue using them again... (I know of just such a 34'!!!!) See y...

Re: 2006 Seawolf 30x10.5
The running pic looks like the Maverick, but I know the Maverick is currently in Sitka, AK (and for sale again).... The comment about 800 hours in 2 years actually "using" your boat... isn't that Stennar's motto? "SeaWolf owners USE THEIR BOATS!"... Personally, I've got nearly 15...

The Can Can is getting a set of outriggers (along with hydraulics for the puller and windlass, rebuilt power, and a few other secret weapon upgrades) this June (and subsequently heading for the Oregon offshore tuna fishery!)... As an Alaskan, I can't say that gillnets are inherently bad or good. With proper management, I think the gillnet fleet here has done just fine over the past 50-100 years. I even sport fish around them during the weekly openings, and haven't had a problem in 34 years. Just to play devil's-advocate, h...

Delaney Leigh Harris arrived today at 8:00 am... 7 lbs. 9 oz. and 20 inches long... not exactly a "keeper" according to many of our fishing regs, but she's sure a record in my book! ;-)
