Re: Small cuddy?
No passport aye? Thing about going Canuck is that the IF you buy the motors in Canada they won't be warrantied in the States. Silver Streak has a dealer in Bellingham so you can get around that. Kingfisher has distributors so not an issue. Ironwood does not. You'd have to buy the motor(s) and ship t...

Re: Small cuddy?
If I had to wait 13 months to get my boat I almost certainly wouldn't have ordered it. I got in just before the mad rush of orders. I understand they have 70 boats on the board right now. Not sure what I would have bought. Didn't like Raider, Hewescraft or Kingfisher as all 3 have foam. Really liked...

Re: New Build Ideas?
Good luck. Think your under budget. Lee Shore will set ya back almost 100k w/out all the electronics etc and that was for just a 22'. Can't remember if their quote included the motor and trailer. Crozier will be close and you won't run the boat with a 175hp. Armstrong even more expensive. Not sure w...

Re: Small cuddy?
Tim, well I ordered the 20' PH but had some changes done. Not in any order but had it stretched to 21' and had them put in a self bailing deck along with the extended offshore bracket. Probably something you'd not want to have done to keep weight down. Not going to have a front bow rail as I don't t...

Re: Stern Arrangements: What's Best?
With that setup might as well be an I/O IMO. It doesn't seem to be all that much space saving compared to the more common models of full transoms. Personally I'm not crazy about the cut out version. Know of boats that have been swamped/sunk due to waves coming up and over especially on the hook. Lee...

Re: 32 Fearless - Most awesome plate alloy CC ever?
Didn't read the entire thing but a couple of things stuck out. One is I find it hard to believe that that boat will only weigh 7-8k lbs. dry. Two, that thing was sitting on a dual axle trailer. I'd want more than 2 wheels per side for something that large regardless of weight.

Re: Stabicraft
The one I was interested in has a 200 HP Zukie on it and they were known for dissimilar metal corrosion issues so I passed. Plus it only has seating for 2 in the PH and I want to be able to seat at least 4. I'm not sure if they come in a configuration that will seat that many.

Re: Looking for designer for commercial boat
420hp diesels? Seem like diesels the way to go if so imo. More reliability as well as fuel efficient. Got to wonder about the cost effectiveness of running twin OB's vs. diesels with running a boat that big but I'm sure you've weighed all the pro's and con's of that. Have friends that commercial fis...

Just curious but what type of fuel numbers do you want to get pushing a 42' boat at 15-18 knots.

Where in Thailand? I've been to Phuket and fished a few times but not in many years. They have schoolie tuna and dorado. Sailfish. Corbina. The hotel I would stay at had a lagoon and it was full of all kinds of fish. Even got a Thai Milk Fish which looks like a tarpon and is hard to catch from what ...

Re: 5/8" pressure treated vs 3/16" alum
Thanks that's good to know. I thought my deck was 5/8. So how much does the wood weigh? Goatram, when you built your PH did it affect the stability at all? I'd like to do it to my 19' Seahawk. Getting a different boat isn't in the cards right now unfortunately so thinking of ways to make my better.

5/8" pressure treated vs 3/16" alum
I'm clueless on this. Which would be heavier for the boats deck the wood or alum? Is 3/16 thick enough to walk on? Thanks.

The builder posted on another board about his boat. 170+ grand for a boat that is basically a 22 footer. It's 24' with the bracket and 28' from tip to back of the motors. Oh and if you do the boat show special you can get it for 150k to the first 4 buyers I think he said.

Re: Our first serious aluminum boat
jj225, Thanks for the great feedback and advice about the family outings. The Jetcraft has a 115 4-stroke yamaha, but I don't remember what the max hp rating was, maybe 150hp. So how much more engine do you recommend? That is a great point about higher altitude, I hadn't even thought of that. Where ...

I own a 19' North River Seahawk with IO. I've fished 3 adults and 3 kids before and I won't do it again. Now the most I'll do is 2 adults and 2 kids either trolling or bait fishing. Have a family of 5 and dog and have done a few vacations so I know that'll work too but we don't do family vacations a...

Re: biggest boat for a single 200
Doesn't matter if it's glass or alum. A boat will pound depending upon how it's built. I owned a Davis and since you are in S.D. you should know what they are. For those that don't they are a heavy glass boat built for hard core fishing and original design was for running downhill with a full load o...
