Barging her north? With something that comfy I think I'd be looking for a cruise... Port Hardy, Ketchikan, Juneau, Yakutat, Cordova.... it's a fun ride!

They make great charter boats too...!

Re: New to thir forum

Case, I was the one asking about your transducer, but it was on another forum. Luckey I found you here, the pics help out a lot. The pic below is of my current boat, but I am on a list for a Seawolf, which is the same maker as Case's boat. I can either have a single D6-370 Volvo Diesel or twin Yama...

The sun was out this morning, channel was glassy calm, feed was boiling causing the gulls to go ape-you-know-what.... and where was my boat? http://www.cancancase.com/templates/subSilver/images/20080408haul3.jpg Yep, spring maintenance time. She's dirty from a winter in the boathouse and several gun...

Sorry... in what world is Lake O. considered a "long stretch"? We do 200+ mile runs just to see icebergs with tourists all summer long. About every 3 or 4 years I end up running our boat between Juneau and Seattle (about 1000 miles, give or take where we stop to fish.) Now THERE'S a long r...

Dave- I used to teach SCUBA in the Keys... had a rather special group of students a few times... you KNOW it's going to be a great day on the water when the first to arrive at the boat in the morning asks, "You don't mind if we get naked on the boat, right? I just got off shift, and don't want ...

Oh, we were supposed to be talking about chum...

Round these parts, the chum needs to be on the bottom, rather than a surface slick. A paper bag full of salmon guts and carcasses ziptied to the anchor seems to work well for me... especially when the current is running strong.

Damnit, Dave... My Wife just grounded me from the site for a week! You gotta give a guy some warning before you just sneak a great photo like that up in there! I at least need time to drag the laptop into another room without a female looking over my shoulder! Jeez!

For light personal use, either an 8wt fly line with 12# tippet, or 15# mono to play with the spring kings. For "heavier duty" charter use, I keep my salmon reels spooled up with 25# Mono in chartreuse... it's the only color I can see against the dark green evergreen background here... Bott...

Hello from Alaska!

Stumbled across the board during a random google search... In the process of finding builders and dialoguing RE: building another new boat for my SE Alaska charter operation. I currently drive a 35' SeaWolf called the Can Can... wouldn't trade it for the world, except that too many folks want to cha...
