Bevan, I like how you think! You are right that we won't be talking for about a week since that is how long it will take for me to recover from my injuries enough to speak . . . :( . . . and then when she finds out it costs $10,000 to fuel it up the judge will take pity on her and call it justifiabl...

Dave, the only thing I would change in your plan is I would sell the boat to a guy named Mort. Oh, and Hillary is toast . . . who da thunk it? The owner sent me some interior pics of the boat, pretty basic, utilitarian. Realistically, if it had a yacht type interior it would be a $500k boat. Check o...

I deserve this boat . . .

I'm at a point in my life where its time to slow down a bit and enjoy the finer things in alloy boating and to be honest, I've decided to spend my kids inheritance to pursue that personal and very selfish dream. Only problem is their inheritance won't quite cover the tab . . . anybody got a couple o...

Ed builds a helluva a boat for the money. My 21 mono is still working hard after 10 years. Eccentric? No worse than the other builders I've met which isn't saying much . . . Don't expect much in the way of fancy interiors, high end electrical systems, glossy topsides, etc. but it will be built...

Re: Pacific V26WA Pics - By request!

Nice to see two fine PacNW products establishing themselves in other parts of the country (besides software and airplanes that is).

I'd like to see a builder come up with a displacement cat, lightweight scantlings and fairly thin hull. About 24' long with say a 10' beam powered with a pair of 50 hp 4 strokes, CC or small pilot house. 18-20 knot cruise, about 10 mpg.

Bull, would it work? Or something close to it?

Is your company connected to the AMF boat building consortium here in the states? Logo looks the same.

For the big stuffed teddy bear on the top row . . . anybody know what AMF stands for? And what their big product line was back in the wonderful 1950's?

Ok, I follow you. Welding seems easy enough. And, for this floor panel getting some bolts locked in is easy - I can do it before I weld it back down. But on the others there is solid foam under that I would need to carve out, and quite a bit of it in order to get a bolt along with wrench to secure ...

Those welds can be rerun no problem, get the material at the joins bright, shiny clean, removing all old oxidation is a must. On the fastening system I would put SS cap screws (hex bolts) up thru the alum deck plates from the bottom side and secure them with jam nuts. Then drop the new plywood floor...

37 Strikers are gorgeous boats - I saw one in a yacht listing that had been restored and modernized and . . . still cleaning the drool off my keyboard.

Welcome! And thank you very, very much for your service to our country.

Nice work Dave, I almost hate to say this but none of those bolts in the tapped holes will unscrew after a couple of years. I've learned my lesson that stainless fasteners screwed directly into aluminum anywhere on the boat will lock up solid, even with anti-seize. I now thru-bolt everything and use...

F450 or F550 - bigger brakes, heavier suspension, etc. in a pickup sized package. Driving dual rear wheel trucks is really no big deal other than avoiding curb hopping on right turns and keeping an eye on the fenders when you are in tight spots and you will appreciate the control it gives you on the...
