Copy that, your the expert. I'll probably use the process you recommend, last time I asked industrial finish for there best epoxy primer coat for aluminum and that's what I got. I'll do some more research before I start for sure.

On my last boat I used a product by Dupont called metalloc and put Pettit vivid directly over it. It's been 5 years and still looks great. Is there a reason not to use this product?

Bob, what are you using for epoxy coat, I used a product called metal loc. I'd like to put my bottom paint on while she's upside down in a few weeks but want to make sure I use the best base coat.

Yes, the new owner purchased the webasto 12000 and we installed it before she shipped of to Juneau and as far as I know Its been flawless . I ran the boat for the lodge for two weeks and ran it the whole time. Worked great.

Kevin, my boat will be dry about 7 months out of the year, I'll continue to do a little more research. I've been told that coldwater has a special extrusion and I've left messages but no answers yet. Thanks as always for your input.

So Kevin, was the total width 4" ? We're they 5 or 6 inch strip? How do you feel an angle bent from 5086 used as a planing strake ? Say like 4 x 1-1/2 x 12'long

Well to be quite honest it hasnt been, we've been hot and heavy trying to get a Data Center built in Central Oregon and I havnt had time to weld in three months. I had to take on running this job myself while my other foreman have been finishing some other projects. Hope to be back on the boat soon.
