Re: Armstrong Cat build
Congrats on the boat. I called them several months ago to price out a boat for me. Never heard back. I guess that extra 8' and six figure price difference was the difference lol!

Re: Seawolf Boats
Hey Black Beard, just noticed you're in CT. Why don't you get a Downeaster? If I didn't live 3k miles away I'd almost certainly be getting one. Love the lines and man they are fuel efficient with a diesel. 25' Seaworthy/BHM is a nice boat.

Re: Seawolf Boats
Received an email from the Co. at least a couple of years ago saying they were going to shut down biz due to the economy. Said it was
an "extended" vacation. No idea if they came back to work but would be easy enough to give them a call.

Re: Aluminum Pilothouse in action video
Aerial shots look pretty cool. Not sure about the caption below though. Looks like it was filmed on a lake so yeah it's gonna run smooth. My little Seahawk would have eaten that up.

Re: Pollard Designed Boats?
Talking to a few builders who have given me input about Pollard boats. Just would like to get more from users although 2 own them. Hearing very good things though. I like the Orca 24' and the Sitka 23'. Also like the Cope 23' WH.

Re: Pollard Designed Boats?
Hell no I'm not going to do this myself. It'd probably sink the first time it hit a swell. Looking at a couple
of builders. One that has actually built a few and the other builds bigger boats but would do this.

Anyone own a Pollard designed boat? Looking at his Sitka design. If so, how do you like it?

I'm getting a quote from Barbary Cove in WA right now on a 23' Winter Harbour. They have even done a JV with Cope on another boat design they call an SUV. Give me your email and I'll send some pics.

Chaps, do you know much about Munson boats? Age of hull wouldn't concern you? I'd prefer a single OB and a small kicker. Twins are twice the price for everything.

Re: Bruce Cope has updated his website
Well I did email Mr. Cope. Found out only 2 of those 23' boats have been built. Waiting for a reply back on the owners
so I can call them. Same with a builder. However, only 2 out there doesn't give me warm and fuzzies.

Re: Bruce Cope has updated his website
I like the 23' PH. So my question is how do you find a builder that will warranty the work? How do you do a test ride? Especially if there are only a couple out there and they're a 1000+ miles away? Or worse not ever been built? I've looked at Specialty Marine before but could never get past those 2...

Re: Comparing Hulls
Having read most of the thread, what I'd like to know is this; are you really going to be able to tell the difference of 5 degrees at bow entry and 2 degrees on the deadrise in a 22' boat? All other things being equal?

Re: Aluminum Chambered Boat
I actually have heard a couple of negative things about the ACB. One was a guy down in So. Cal. who did some 6 pack charters with it. Had some issues with it and sent it back to WA but never resolved. This second hand info and always two sides to every story. Also heard he almost sunk (exaggeration?...

Re: Custom 21' Wooldridge offshore center console
Grant, thanks for the info. It would seem the extended bottom would be the better fit for the type of fishing I'd be doing. Mojo is right about live bait fishing. To us So. Cal. guys fishing w/out live bait would be like you NorWesters fishing salmon w/out a downrigger. So toss in a kicker with that...

Re: Custom 21' Wooldridge offshore center console
Didn't realize there was no "super" in the "sport" 20' model. The way the senior Wooldridge explained it over the phone to me it made it sound like the bracket on the 20' model was slicker than chit and a much better design. Maybe he was just being a salesman at that point. Quite...

Re: Custom 21' Wooldridge offshore center console
Is that an extended hull? Looks like it but I was under the impression that they didn't build one. Think they refered to it as a box bracket or something like that I can't remember. The 20' SS OS pilothouse doesn't have an extended bracket that is pictured on a seperate thread. I know because I aske...

Re: Raider Boats?
Thanks for the feedback. I'm in KA. and Boulton is the closest with Wooldridge being the furthest and Raider a "neener" as they are sold via Dealers and the one I've talked to is in OR.

Raider Boats?
Anyone own a Raider? If so, which one and of course how do you like it? Would you buy one again? Issues? You can PM me if you want to keep it private. It's one of 3 that I'm thinking of buying with Boulton and Wooldridge being the other two. However, Raider seems to have the least amount of info flo...

Re: Boats for Following Seas
Well if you've ridden in a Davis you should know unless you've never been out is a big following sea. I owned one for 6 years and I can say w/out a doubt the reputation is well deserved. Boat is unbelievable imo. Try taking your hands off the wheel in a 10' f.s. and see just how well the boat tracks...

Re: Boats for Following Seas
Fisherman, since you're in Central CA. you should know about the Radon hull. Really no better hull for running in a following sea although it's a plastic boat. It just beats the hell out of you running uphill lol. Be interesting to know if
an alum. builder could shape a hull like a Radon/Davis.
